"The author throws you in from the get-go. You can really get immersed with the characters relationships starting out. Both of the character perspectives are really well expressed from both sides of the leads. I really liked the male lead, especially after that one chapter, but the female lead is also great at showing her individual strengths and capabilities. For the bad, I am more drawn to stories that introduce characters slowly, the story throws you a lot of characters starting out and my feeble mind had a hard time keeping up with all of them. It is a great story, and I would love to read more."

Immersive writing and interesting plot!
"The story has an amazing plot so far! Really liked the characters’ personalities and interactions. It’s really entertaining. The writing is pretty good, really descriptive in a lot of parts (reactions, scenes, emotions). However, I see some repetition of words to describe actions (a lot of smirks), but not a problem at all. Just maybe look for different words to make the storytelling and descriptions better than they already are."

"A very promising read stuffed with a great writing style. So far, characters are interesting and descriptive language brings them to life. The only flaw I could see is a wonky editing in places that diminishes the reading experience but it's not critical. Thanks for sharing and it's definitely a story one should give a chance 😀 "
Engaging characters
"I enjoyed what I've read so far. The characters have a great personality right out the gate, and the spiciness between the MCs promises more great things. We're just getting into the other side of our mysterious female CEO, so it's not quite clear how that fits in yet, but that will add another interesting dimension to the whole book. All in all, this was a very good start and something different and intriguing to read on this app."

"Silk and Shadows by @love_aaliyah I usually steer clear of third-person POVs, but this story uses it amazingly! I fell in love with Anastasia and Damian from the first chapter, and I can't wait for more! The writing style is easy to read, and it is obvious how much love the author put into this story. I know it's scary reading an ongoing story, but this one is worth the risk. Every word sucks you in and keeps you entertained. I've thought about this book for days; it won't leave my thoughts! The main characters, Anastasia and Damian, have the potential to become complex characters and exhibit scenic character arcs. Their personalities shine through already, and I think they'll stick with me for a while! The hook of this story really sets the mood for what to expect. I love how much that first chapter means so far. It explores the true essence of storytelling; everything you need in any first chapter shows up in 'Silk and Shadows'. This is 100 per cent an opinion of mine, but one thing I think would do this story justice is revealing the genre of the story through the book cover. I'm pretty sure this is a modern romance with the business aspects, but the cover makes me think it has fantasy elements. Most contemporary novels have a cover to match the aesthetic of the story. Themes surrounding the book are present on the cover. Maybe you could go on a website like pexels.com and search for a woman in a modern gown to combat the fantastical elements in this version? That's completely up to you, though! This cover is beautiful, it just confuses me a bit haha!"

"Aaliyah has a terrific handle on dialogue. The banter between Anastasia and Damian and Anastasia and Caroline is witty and fast-paced. The start of this story (to the end of chapter 4) suggests that there will be much more excitement to come. I've never been involved in business, but what I've read here seems authentic. I'm looking forward to the next chapters!"

"I would say this is probably a story with one of the most entertaining first chapter ever! Like really, it hooked me directly! This story is about a female CEO and male CEO who got the best awards, but both of them wants to be the only one, and thus the war between them begins! Do you see how entertaining this is? I love the beginning and the author's writing is so good and flow very well! I definitely will recommend this book if you like office romance and enemy to lovers trope. Even before they fall in love their interaction already feels hawt for me hahaha and they even haven't done anything! It's just that good how the author builds the tension. Good job, girl!"
