Chapter 0
Behind the light, sheltered by darkness, there lies a shadow.
A shadow is a mirror that reflects an alternate form of an object.
An object.
Humans are objects too. But what is the definition of an object? An object broadly refers to anything that can be thought about or referred to, including entities, concepts, and experiences.
Humans fall into all of those categories.
In terms of thought, humans are the mortal form of ideas contained within a vessel, like something kept in a jar.
As a concept, humanity is a metaphysical notion that inserts itself into a physical, worldly form.
In terms of experience, humans are subjects in the flow of time—something that continues moving forward, even when we try to step backward.
A shadow is the embodiment of our being, a reversed mirror born from another mirror—a fractal undefined, even by the human who casts it.
This is a story—
A narrative wrapped in uncertainty,
Where the reality you know is not reality at all,
Where what is believed to be true may, in fact, be false.
This is a tale—
A carefully woven thread of words,
Crafted to entertain, to whisper, to linger within the reader’s mind.
This is Tales From The Shadows
