✦ Chapter 1: A Boy Beneath a Silent Sky

The story opens in a breathtaking yet slightly melancholic world where cities exist high above a vast ocean of clouds. These clouds are not soft or welcoming—they are thick, heavy, and mysterious, almost like a barrier separating the known world from something deeper and more dangerous below. The sky above is often calm, but there is a quiet tension in the atmosphere, as if something is always being hidden.

Theo, a young mechanic, lives in one of these floating cities. His life is simple but not particularly joyful. He spends most of his time working in a small workshop filled with gears, tools, and half-repaired machines. The shop itself reflects his personality: practical, slightly messy, but full of care and dedication. Theo is known for being talented with machines, especially when it comes to fixing things others would give up on.

Despite this, Theo is quite lonely. He does not have many close friends, and his daily routine rarely changes. Customers come and go, bringing broken devices—small flying gadgets, mechanical tools, and occasionally more complex machinery. Theo fixes them quietly, rarely complaining, but also rarely expressing excitement.

However, there is one thing that sets Theo apart: his curiosity about the clouds.

Most people in the city avoid talking about them. The clouds are seen as dangerous and forbidden—something not to be explored. There are rumors that those who venture too close never return, or come back changed. Because of this, society has developed an unspoken rule: do not question what lies beneath.

But Theo cannot help himself.

Whenever he has a moment, he looks toward the horizon, where the clouds stretch endlessly. He wonders what exists beyond them. Is there another world? Are there people? Or something else entirely?

This quiet curiosity creates a subtle inner conflict. Theo is torn between the safe, predictable life he knows and a deep desire to discover something more.

The chapter ends with a sense of anticipation. Theo’s life seems stable on the surface, but the story hints that something is about to disrupt it completely.
