Tauren Knox's Butterfly Effect

Summary

Tauren Knox is an Omega werewolf marked for death. Born as the runt in a family of Betas the strongest werewolf pack in all of Oklahoma; Tauren only knows of abuse, torment, and impending death as he is made into a whipping boy, punching bag, and scapegoat by his parents, older brother, and almost all of the pack members. He also knows that his death would be the ultimate key to his freedom from misery and accepts that no one (save for those who showed compassion, including his sister Anissa, a sass-mouthed prophet, and the current Alpha and Luna and their daughter Elisse) would miss him if he died. And he also knows that no one would accept him as a mate since he was all skin and bones and denied everything that other wolves have. So it was no surprise that Eric Girbaud (the Alpha's son) comes home and rejects him as his true mate before ordering his death on sight during his homecoming party. Tauren accepts his death with open arms as if greeting an old friend while forgiving those who broke him. His death signified the pack's freedom from "bad luck" and celebrate, much to the current Alpha and his family's dismay. Little did everyone know that Tauren Knox was the direct descendant of the Moon Goddess and the Sun God as well as the grandchild of Ouranos and Gaea (Mother Earth and Father Time); and they have seen all the evil committed against him.

Prologue: The Overture

Gentle reader, how do you do? You may not know me, but I know that you’re interested in something new for a thrilling werewolf tale like none other. And I can honestly assure you that this tale is like none other.

And if you’re a fan of a good werewolf story which involves the Omega werewolf (male or female) as the main character, then I take it that you’re familiar with the following trope.

1. The Alpha rejects the Omega for someone with better looks and/or higher status.

2. Omega suffers from the rejection process and either learns to adapt to the situation or leaves for a new pack.

3. Omega finds a second-chance mate and makes the first mate jealous OR the first Alpha soon realizes his/her mistake and begins the complicated process to earn a second chance with the Omega.

4. Various scenarios about the Omega’s past are revealed with the introduction of the main villain.

5. Drama, romance, filler chapters (mainly some comedic relief), and a final war takes place before the grand finale.

For most situations, the Omega usually gets a happy ending.

But for this particular story, the following sequence won’t be applied in this case.

Now, what happens when a male Omega who suffered from rejection, abuse, and torture because of his status is ultimately rejected and sentenced to death by the Alpha’s son despite warnings and protests from his parents, a no-nonsense seer, and the Omega’s loving sister (one of the small handful who showed the Omega kindness and love)? What happens when the young Alpha’s choice leads to a lethal domino effect that would bring the strongest pack in Oklahoma...down to nothing? And what happens when the REAL lineage of the late Omega is revealed as what was done in darkness would slowly yet gradually be brought to light?

They say that the smallest flap of a butterfly’s wings can trigger a raging storm based on the smallest choices a person can make, whether the choice is good or evil. Well, gentle reader? The short and tragic life of the Omega in question would indeed trigger a powerful hurricane where the meek would rise and the proud would be brought low. And while this story will have a bittersweet ending, it would also feature a new beginning that will change everything forever.

Now, gentle reader, is the time that you’ve made sure to have all the snacks and drinks on hand while preparing yourselves with all that you’ll need for an EXCELLENT reading experience: the ‘Do Not Disturb’ feature on your phone or tablet activated (only family-centered calls and emergency calls are allowed), the doors locked, the blinds drawn, your favorite musical playlist on hand for reading, and a good spot to read this tale of minel. Have you got everything settled with your errands, school work, and/or job objectives? Would you prefer to read this in the privacy of your own home? Please make sure that everything is all settled so you will not be disturbed.

Right, then. Now that you have everything needed for an EXCELLENT reading experience, I do believe that the time has come for you to enjoy a new werewolf tale that is truly like none other. So I ask you, are you seated comfortably?

Then let’s begin.

***********************

Tauren Knox: I was rejected for my status as an Omega, being only made to serve as a punching bag while my twin brother, a Beta, got all the love and attention from my parents.

Trenton Knox: He was an abomination, an Omega meant to be used as a slave or a sacrificial lamb.

Eric Girbaud: The moment I laid my eyes on him when my birthday arrived, my wolf wanted him...but I wanted a female to be my bride.

Elisse Girbaud: My parents and I, alongside my mate Anissa and those who did show kindness to Tauren, were helpless when my brother, Tauren’s parents and Trenton, and anyone else who hated him had him killed- ready to erase the “bad luck of the Red Blade pack.”

Anissa Knox: But with all their delusions of being stronger, there would be a severe price to pay as what was done in the darkness would soon come to the light. And what my family didn’t know is that Tauren wasn’t a mere Omega cursed to die...but the direct descendant of Rhea and Cronus, also known respectively as Mother Earth and Father Time themselves and the parents of the supernatural gods.

Francis Deveraux: This is a story of rejection, death, scandals, lies, and a divine call for justice for those who insult the Moon Goddess. Now, are you sure you want to know the WHOLE story of what went down? Are you prepared for the heartbreak and bloodshed that will make you cry and be angry? Do you REALLY want to know the butterfly effect from Tauren’s demise, hmm?

Tauren Knox: Okay, let’s go!
