Just Meeting
Chapter 1
Just got off work and it is pouring outside. Standing in the middle of the little sitting area in front of the office. It is a nice little area to eat and chat with if the sun was shining but it is not. It is hiding behind clouds full of rain and water droplets are falling and everybody is walking fast passing me. I am the only one without an umbrella or the only one that doesn’t care about getting wet. And for some reason I don’t move, I just stand there with my face towards the sky and I’m breathing it in. It doesn’t matter that I have assignments due or that I am soaked. All that matters right now is that I stand here without a care in the world.
“Miss, are you ok?” A voice knocked me out of my thoughts. I wiped my face and looked into the most gorgeous pair of eyes I have ever seen. They didn’t match, the left has specs on his brown iris and the right is clear ocean blue. I could get lost in them all day. He was carrying an umbrella, and he put it over both of us. We were inches apart.
“Sorry, yes I am fine. I was clearing my head.” I said, putting my hand on his arm. He grinned, then he did something I never thought would happen. He dropped the umbrella. The rain covered both of us. I couldn’t stop staring at him. He looked up at the sky and smiled. I matched his grin and looked down.
He was probably 6 or 7 inches taller than me. He has on a 3-piece suit, all black. His tie had a little sparkle to it. Like a night sky full of stars. He looked yummy. His cheeks and around his mouth had a little bit of hair. Probably didn’t shave for a couple of days.
“I don’t know what is more beautiful?” he said, taking me by the hand. His fingers felt so good in mine. Like they were made mine. I smiled and met his glaze.
“I thought I was the only one that thought a rainy day was beautiful. Do you want to grab a drink?” I was so shocked I just asked him that. He never took his eyes from mine.
“Yes.” He said, interlocking our fingers and we ran.
What am I thinking? I don’t even know his name. But I want to know everything there is about him. And I am going to find out.
