The Poem

I pray I could see you every day,

The moment the world inhales in delight.

The scent of the earth embraces me,

The richest perfume I’ve ever smelled.

The world is busy chasing happiness

In artificial things. But they haven’t a clue

That you, dear rain, are amazing and special,

You appear for just a little while,

And people should learn to enjoy and feel your presence.

Granny started praying to Arjuna Phalguna,

Fearing the thunders, but I felt

You were giving me a hint, like knocking at my door to enter.

Excitedly, I stand on my toes to welcome you.

When I stand in the rain, I scream,

I cry, but nobody knows or cares.

I love to share my pain with you,

Please wash away all my suffering, failures, and sadness,

With your mercy and love.

Neither medicine nor people, but only you

Sooth my mental health and worries.

The moment when I play like a child,

Not even knowing that I’ve grown up!

Now the time has come for you to leave me

And return to the sky. In just a few months,

I will be waiting for you,

Just like a mother waits to see her baby.

I’m so attached to you,

I really want you to come every day.

But that’s okay—I'll still wait for you.

You’ve created a special bond in me,

And I hope this relationship lasts forever.

I miss you.
