She told herself she was immune to him. That his sly smirks and midnight stares didn’t crawl under her skin. That the way he seemed to light up the shadows in her otherwise dimly lit life meant nothing.
But it was all just a lie. All just pretend.
He wasn’t just a man. He was a storm that danced along the horizon before devouring the sky. Dangerous. Irresistible. And oh, so fucking lethal.
Every time they met was a battle. Their words sliced sharper than any blade ever could, and their silences burned hotter than the brightest flame. He had a knack for finding her vulnerabilities, wearing them down until she was raw and exposed. Yet, when he stood close enough, she felt herself coming apart, not from fear, but way worse. Longing.
She hated him. She hated the way he leaned in, his voice a low rasp as he said, “You can pretend all you want, but I see the way you look at me.”
He wasn’t wrong, was he?
It was like his eyes were magnets, and she was the iron fillings every time his gaze fell on her.
She fought it, of course. Denial was her armor, sarcasm her weapon. But he never failed to make her absolutely powerless in front of him.
“You think I’m the villain,” he murmured one night, his hand brushing hers, “that’s what you love, right?”
She didn’t respond. Couldn’t. Because admitting it out loud would mean accepting the truth she’d been keeping buried for so long.
That she was falling.
Not into his arms, no. That would be too simple. Too sweet. She was falling into him. His chaos, his fire, his sin.
And somehow, in the mess of it all, she realized she didn’t want to stop.
thats it for now. do you guys like this story? would you prefer dual pov, first person or continuity in this format?
