"What an absolute gem of a story! Very well written and edited with plenty of drama, love and incredibly sensual and well written erotica. I found this totally by accident when looking for a historical romance, particularly regency ish but I thought Japan? I’ll give it a chance.... Best thing I did 🥰👏 I’m not sure what else this author has written but if this is the measure of the quality they produce then I have to read everything and anything. "

"Literally love the writing and the pacing and all the characters— except Mei. *spoilers* Here’s the thing; I get that she was supposed to have some arc after she was discovered to be Hiro’s love but her nastiness towards Sayu was never really resolved other than them coming to terms with the fact that Hiro was executed. Like I understand trauma bonding (maybe not this exact kind) but a little insight into how she became a better communicator and trusted person for Sayu would’ve alleviated my resentment towards her, but that’s just me. Oh and if she apologized to Sayu. I loved everything else. Totally felt like Renji should’ve had someone special, but it’s okay that he died with honor, I respect that. I get it, Sata was regretful and forgiven but I do wish she just stabbed him. The details were sublime— I love love and this was such a good build into a snippet in time that I will consider this a reread— even if I have to relive Mei’s ill will towards Sayu. Thank you for writing this!! "

Sayuri's and Kaiyan's relationship, how perfectly it developed, how they got to know each other, the storyline, oh everything is good! I felt bad about Renji and Hiro though (😭) This author did an amazing job! Definitely worth it! A perfect 10 out of 10!!!"

"If this story is a first draft, I'll eat my hat. What an emotional rollercoaster... This writer has a huge talent for describing the relationship of well rounded characters falling slowly, and very believably, in love. The only thing I regret is that we only learn in chapter 11(give or take a chapter) in which country this whole story takes place and never who the enemy in this war is, nor why there is a war in the first place. ***spoiler ahead*** For the author; Sometimes it was hard to envision how or where in the room people were standing, who could see each other and who couldn't. The scene with her laying on her stomach on his bed and him cleaning her wounds was difficult to imagine. A lot of their interaction is about noticing each other and that's pretty difficult when the other person is out of your point of view taking care of your back. Add a bit more worldbuilding, try a scene by scene play of character placement in the room or outside space and elaborate on the ones who are too vague, and you are done for publishing! 🥳 Good luck with your book and congratulations for finishing it!"
