Awakened
This is a sneak preview at Galatea's publication tentatively scheduled for 8/24/25
I woke with a start, the feeling that something was off causing my eyes to flick open. My heart racing as I sat up in the darkness to look around me, the sheets pooling around me in pitch black as my eyes strained and darted in every direction. Everything was still, even as the clock on the wall continued to tick away in the sheer darkness. The shades didn’t even hint at what time it might be outside, keeping out the frigid Alaskan air as well as any possible rays of sunlight that continued to shine at odd hours of the summer, making everything seem at peace.
There was something very wrong, though, as a feeling knotted deep in my gut. Something compelling me to get up from bed and fumble with my phone to find and slide on my silk robe. Often sleeping in nothing but the occasional scrap of fabric across my thighs; it was more than necessary to compose myself for the rest of the staff when I exited my room. As I placed down my phone in order not to blind myself, I turned towards the direction of the door, confident in both finding and opening it, as I had time and time again in the darkness.
The reality that I wasn’t leaving my room, though, was all too apparent as I felt hands cover mine as I finished tying the sash, taking two steps forward before the warmth pulled me in. My instincts were to stop and lean into the embrace, taking a step back into his firm build to sink into his chest. Enjoying both the embrace and smell of what was my husband, Jack’s loving embrace, as I let a small sigh escape me.
That tiny sliver of peace was shattered in an instant.
A simple glance down as I moved backwards was all it took to register that this, was not my husband. The shape of his hand too broad even in the darkness as it settled on my flesh for what little I could make out. My heart leapt into my throat as the sound of rushing water filled my ears and the scent of fresh soap entered my nose that I didn’t recognize. Nothing about this man in the darkness was familiar.
Panic.
Pure panic jumped up my spine while my body froze every nerve, his hands firmly pulling me against his torso. His lips came to my ear as one of the hands were removed from my waist. Replacing it with the hard metallic butt of a gun at an angle, firmly into my side.
My lips trembled as I attempted to keep my breathing even, my mind only just beginning to catch up as adrenaline began to course through my body. Trying to think of a way out of this. To say or do anything to avoid what might be inevitable.
“So you’re Jack’s prized little bride, all tucked away and hidden.” His words were like velvet, smooth, a slight accent I couldn’t place beneath his graveled tone. Clearly one of Jack’s higher up associates instead of one of their little hench men, but which one? Trying desperately to remember which one Jack said was the most lethal.
“Please. I don’t know what my husband did, but I’m not involved. I’ve never been involved, I-”
“Shhhhh.” He whispered, lips tracing my ear as his other hand moved to loosen my robe, the gun never leaving my side. “We both know that if you’re involved with a man like that, it means you’re involved. Surely I can’t be your first lesson.”
My body tensed, flinching as my robe fell open with ease as he pulled away the sash from its loops, and the cool air brushed over my stomach and nipples like a lover’s kiss. I wanted to elbow him, or run; too afraid to move with the feeling of the hard mechanical death bringer biting into my soft flesh. Knowing it could all be over if I so much as breathed wrong. Thankful it was at least dark enough that making out my body was difficult at best.
Even if it wasn’t the end- it would certainly hurt like hell. I had known pain before, pain likely worse than what this gun might offer. It wasn’t something I looked forward to experiencing. Pain in most capacities was something to be avoided.
“I was going to leave you to sleep, but you just couldn’t help yourself by getting up and showing me everything you had to offer. You’re quite beautiful.” He made a low sounding growl in his throat as his lips skimmed down the side of my throat, his chin moving aside the hair with ease, as if he could make out every single strand in the pitch black. “ Quite an oddity though, hard to get to, well protected, not obvious yet extremely well hidden. Exactly what I needed.”
“I don’t-” I gasped, his thumb brushing just under my nipple, gliding over the green satin before moving onto my bare skin. He moaned his appreciation as my nipple grew taut, and my breathing was drawn short. Legs shaking in the darkness, not just from the adrenaline or the amount of danger I was in, but as a shiver ran down my spine straight to the juncture of my thighs at the contact. Followed by a hot and cold sensation through my entire body.
“What a delicious response. That can’t be the only reason Jack has you tucked away.” The sound of a footstep began to emanate down the hallway, coming towards our room.
Tears pricked my eyes as I knew what was about to happen. My husband was about to walk through the door, and I wasn’t sure if that was a good or bad thing. It would all be over.
“Pity. I wanted to get better acquainted.” He muttered as his fingers pulled at my nipple once more, his lower half grinding into my back with his throbbing, hot cock.
I shivered at the sensations going over me at the thought of the things he might have done if Jack hadn’t returned. What he could still do if he let me live. The possibility of what could still be done in front of my husband. If this had been any other situation, I might have been flattered that someone wanted me so badly. His smell and the way his gravely tone purred into my ear, seared into my mind along with the heat of his body, part of him enticing despite not even seeing his face.
The icy metallic gun replaced any positive thought with fear. Wondering how he had gotten past Damien’s security team, and how badly he intended to harm me to send a message. Danger washing over me like a cold shower as my mind began to turn, trying to see a way out of the situation.
As the door pushed open, the only audible sound was of the gun being cocked into my side. A small sob releasing from my throat following in the darkness as the blinding light spilled over my body, and its captor. The light to the room flicked on immediately, my eyes having to adjust as the man behind me began his quiet yet deadly interrogation.
“Where are my guns, Jack?” The man’s words behind me were quiet, but direct in their intent. The malice under the surface sending goosebumps all over my flesh as I tried my best not to cry or shake. The only sensation to soothe me, not coming from any reassurance from the look on my husband’s face; but instead from the way the stranger’s thumb brushed over the side of my arm as if to comfort me.
“You’re supposed to be dead.” Jack’s face was pale. As if he couldn’t believe his eyes, not to mention tired.
Oh no. He’s too tired. My hopes dashed as I looked him over as the spots slowly slid out of my vision. He can’t cast. He can’t save us. Jack Blair was one of the most powerful casters in the world, a little known fact that his coven and I were aware of; and served him well time and time again. However, the greatest downfall of anyone with power, was that it had its limits. Just looking at him, it was obvious he didn’t have enough energy to push a small breeze, let alone manifest anything remotely tangible to stop this man.
I prayed to the Goddess this wasn’t the end, and that somehow we might find a way out of this. Wishing I was even fractionally as talented as my husband. That anything might manifest for me if I just wished hard enough, as my heart pounded in my ears and tears pricked at my eyes at the defeated look in my husband’s eyes.
“Counting chickens, Jack. I won’t ask again. Where. Are. My. Guns?”
“Kill her, and the guns-”
The stranger was so quick with his movements I barely felt him move before suddenly Jack was on the floor, screaming as blood began to pool out of the back of his calf and down his leg as he fell to the floor kneeling. The gun posed in front of me before going back to my side. I didn’t even have time to scream, my lower lip trembling and my breath stuck in my throat as the gun was being waved around in the corner of my eye as my villain spoke.
“She’s next, and don’t pretend you don’t care. It was a bitch getting up here. Where the fuck are my guns.”
“Taronto! They’re in Taranto you son of a bitch god dammit.” Jack grit out, clutching his leg and shaking. Tears streaming down his face and blood began to pool around him. “Leave her out of this.”
“You tried to kill Nadia and me tonight, you think that didn’t make our business personal?” His hand went down to cup my pussy possessively; pinning me against his body. His other hand going to half grasp my neck with the gun in his hand, my head turning to the side in disgust only to have his nose sink into the crown of my hair sliding down smoothly to nip at my earlobe, as if to glare at Jack from over it. “Is this the first woman who’s been ruined because of you? Or just the first one you’ll care about?” He asked as emotions of fury and malice ran over Jack’s features, well beyond just the gunshot wound, as he grit his teeth. Pulling part of his shirt off to tie the wound, attempting to keep his eyes on both of us.
The man behind me was being careful with his movements despite the show, feeling it in his body. He was tense, as if making sure my husband wasn’t armed. Knowing he might need to strike. “ Can’t say I can find anything at all about her beyond the last few years. What is she? Your sister? Part of the flesh trade? A lab rat?”
I balled my fists, gritting my teeth as I squeezed my eyes shut, doubting that we would make it out alive. Despising his inaccurate depictions of me before my death. Even as the tips of his fingers hovered just above my clitoris, making me burn as his hand tasted my heat.
“Flesh trade.” Jack confirmed, the lie so smooth- perhaps a lie he had told a thousand times.
I heard the gun cock again, and my voice was finally found. The fear intense. “Please.”
“So you’ll tell me beautiful?” He purred. “Smart little bitch you found Jack, to bad she’s married to a dog like you. Let’s see if she gives me a good reason not to put you down.”
“She’s not what you want. Just-”
“Needs evolve. You know that.” The stranger snapped, as if to say business had gone south for more reasons than greed. “Come with me sweetheart. Let’s see if you can change my mind. Fight or hurt me- I will make sure every last bit of this is as painful as possible.”
My legs were like Jello as he shoved me forward, letting me cover myself with my robe as he pointed the gun and pointed it at the door. As if to tell me to lead the way. My eyes darted down at Jack, my arms immediately around myself, wrapping the robe over my body as I hyperventilated. There wasn’t anything I could do though other than step past Jack, the smell of his blood making me cover my mouth as tears pricked my eyes.
The man hit Jack, making me turn back to try and help him as I heard his body hit the floor. Instead, I got a full view of my attacker as he loomed over me, shooting a hand forward to turn me around and force me forward. “Move.”
Tall. Taller than me. Blond hair, blue eyes, golden kissed skin with sharp angled features and broad shoulders making him put Jack’s leaner frame to shame. Piercings. A small tattoo on his temple nearly hidden by stubble. Dripping with good looks over his lethal sharp features as he moved.
His hand was on my neck, leading the way, as if he knew every nook and cranny of Jack’s estate. Reaching the front door as quickly as if I had led us myself, my hands shaking as they were placed on the door’s latch since any plan I had tried to form, failed. It was here that I paused, knowing that the moment I left these walls, I really would no longer be safe. Any hope or chance of escape was lost the moment I went to a second location. The guards, the safety of knowing my home, the idea I could fight with the resources I had fleeing my mind as I paused.
He let out a small noise much like an amused laugh through his nose, the sound so subtle I nearly missed it before his arms were scooping me up. His hand with the gun, opening the door with ease and kicking it with a foot. The icy air wrapping around us, the hint of the sun around the horizon with several trucks out front; the majority of our staff and guards bound and gagged out front in the cold with four people walking around them with SMG’s. One of which was a tall spider looking woman.
“What the fuck are you-”
“Drive with Marcus.”
“You said you’d kill him!” The woman’s thick Russian accent was sharp as she tried to follow him to the vehicle. Her red hair cut like a razor to a wig with its angled precision. Fury on her features.
My captor didn’t respond, instead shoving me into the spacious 4 runner that had the front seats removed and a glass between the front and back seat. The glass immediately went up as he slammed the door behind us, sliding into the seat next to me and sighing as he leaned his head back, leaving the gun limp between his thighs as the car started, several other engines firing in rapid succession before we quickly pulled away.
I stayed curled up in the corner of my seat as far from him as possible, neither of us bothering with a belt, as I stared at him, and he simply seemed to take a moment. The silence heavy. Long enough to even my breathing, but not long enough for me to begin to plan an attack before his eyes were suddenly on me, blazing with intent.
A small, lazy, satisfied grin on his lips.
“Well are you going to get to work sweetheart? My cock isn’t going to suck itself.”
I glared at him, my teeth clenching. “Go fuck yourself.”
He raised his eyebrows in surprise, sitting up, but the hand on his gun still entirely relaxed. “Do you not get how this works? I wanted you, I took you, spared your shitty husband, now be a good girl or-”
I lunged for the gun, a fruitless, stupid attempt that I had to try. Leaving me pinned painfully against the seats by his body, the gun tossed further across the floor near the driver’s cab somewhere as his firm warm grip pinned me into place. The robe gaping open once more, so my bared flesh was pressed against his immaculate suit.
A primal growl grew from his throat as his hips thrust forward, his eyes burning into mine. “I’m not above fucking if that’s what you really wanted.”
“No I-”
“Then get on your fucking knees, and get to work.” He growled, pulling my hair to force my body into place as he unzipped his pants, forcing me into submission.
His throbbing cock sprung loose, his hard pulsating member already dripping with pre-cum as he brought my face to it. I tried to turn my head at first, the pain of my hair pulling at my scalp almost too much to bear as his pre-cum smeared my cheek. Tears pricking my eyes as he pressed the warm bulbous tip against the edge of my lips.
Deciding to get it over with quickly, I opened my mouth wide; swallowing his cock. He grunted out, pushing me further than comfortable as he hit the back of my throat for a moment before releasing me. Another satisfied moan releasing as his head fell back, and he settled back into the seat beside me; pulling me over his lap by the hair. I followed as I continued, not missing a beat as I began to move up and down his length with my mouth, another hand moving to cup his balls and massage.
“Good little slut.” He grunted, his fingers still gripping, but massaging my scalp as I continued to move up and down his length. My head bobbing as his hips began to shift and head lulled back.
Letting him enjoy his last few minutes of peace.
Before I made my move.
