Chapter 1: The Encounter

"Hey! Wake up!"

Soft snores were the only sound before Emily's loud alarm rang, only to get snoozed for the 4th time.

"You said you wanted to wake up early this Sunday when mom goes out, didn't you!?"

Emily takes a high jump from her bed, straight to the surface of her room, landing right in front of her calender, finding for the ending of marked days.

"..14th...14th..."

Her sleepy voice echoed the room. The husk changed into a shrill voice when she finds the 14th of July is a sunday.

She looks at the mirror, her grin grinning at her reflection's grin. Her super long hair at the back, only her "bangs" and not even the half of her hair visible.

"Now..."

She asks this question, being alone in her bedroom completely made of every shade of pink.

"Where should I go?~" She face palms herself, almost lost in imagining herself spending the entire day enjoying this life, before she snaps out of her thoughts when she takes a glance at her door.

"Where should I go..Em?~" "When is mom going to come back?~" "When should I reach home..Em?~"

The sweetness in her voice pleaded her elder sister, Emilia.

"It's.. almost 8; and she is going to come back at around 12, and you said you wanted to go to the library, hmm? Then come home at somewhere around 11." Her manly-woman voice echoes the tidy room.

Her little smiles were exposing her happiness for her little sister without her consent, make her even more happier.

"But... why are you.."

Emily inquired, looking up and down at her, making it obvious.

"They called me."

"Aw... sad that financial analysts have to go work on a Sunday while fine artists are enjoying their day off's alone in the library."

"Shut up, don't forget that I'm the reason you never slept hungry."

Emilia's voice is a perfect fit for her appearance, but definitely not for her personality when it comes to Emily with her childish one.

"Let me drop you there."

"Thenkk you~~"

As Emily reached the library, she exchanged bye's with her sister, and entered, heading straight to the section where she could only find her favorite thriller books.

"Now, where are you hiding, my favorite book...?~"

As soon as she finds it, she takes the seat she marked as "loner" and sat and entered her world of thrill and horror.

"Why is there a woman sitting at the corner all alone by herself? Want me to fill up the space?"

A manly, wolfish voice echoes a space of the library. But to Ethan's surprise, Emily wasn't bothered at all to even hear him. He brings on a grin that suits his face, or rather, a smirk.

"Damn, I guess this one's hard to bring to the basement. Wow."

This guy, further to grab this girl's attention, snaps his fingers twice and even more, he at last wins after waving his hand above the book, finally achieving her attention.

"Miss?"

"Hu-HUH"

"Woah."

There was a moment of silence for the two of them to process what happened what is happening.

"Sorry- were you here for a while?! I'm so sorry, I was too focused.."Her soft-appearant blonde hair falls upon her brown eyes, flowing further to her softer cheeks shaded naturally pink, and leading them to almost touch the seat. Ethan was surprised by how her whole feminine appearance was unnoticed by him this whole time.

" No, no, it's alright. I was just asking if I could sit here." Ethan spoke to assure her something that would make her more comfortable.

"Oh, yeah sure you can." She softly spoke, looking down in order to hide her abashed face.

"Well, that clearly says it's your favorite book that you're reading, hmm?" Ethan questioned the red faced woman.

There was no response from Emily, so he just gave a soft of a chuckle, trying to comfort her.

"So, Miss, please tell me something about you." He changed the topic to something he would be more interested in.

"Mm? Something about me?" She probably got so comfortable that she almost forgot they just met a couple of minutes ago. He was so charismatic for Emily already, his black eyes made her even forget that they're just strangers.

She pauses herself for a moment of realisation, and finally speaks in reality.

"Oh! I'm Emily, nice to meet you".

" Emily what?" Ethan questioned sub consciously, without his consent, and realises non-expressively soon.

"..Emily Blunter." Looking at Ethan's eyes, she found a hint that he seemed to be bored of her already, and decided to describe herself more profoundly.

"I'm 24, and I love to read books, especially horror and thriller, as you have found out. Talking about my career, I'm a fine artist, and I work just nearby."

Without her knowing, Ethan's face was lit up slightly right when she added her age.

"Now it's your turn."She finished off with that, now waiting for him to speak.

" Yes. Nice to meet you too. My name is Ethan Walker, and I'm a Data Scientist just a bit far away. I love watching movies and, oh, I'm 25."

"Cooool."The surprised young lady replied almost immediately. And bogh of them started focusing on their books.

After 30 minutes or so, Ethan was the first to get bored. Unfocused on the book, he started to look at every part of Emily.

" I change my mind." He thought. "You don't deserve to rot like them, darling."
