Chapter 1: The Girl in Seat E14

The late afternoon sky was a soft, indifferent gray, the kind of color that made Ha-eun want to disappear into the background and stay invisible. She shuffled along the cracked sidewalk, her hands stuffed deep into the pockets of her oversized sweater, the one she borrowed from her cousin Minji. It was too big, swallowing her thin frame, but it was warm and it smelled faintly like lavender, which was better than the damp cold that had settled into the city streets.

Minji was practically bouncing on her feet beside her, her bright smile and infectious energy a sharp contrast to Ha-eun's dull mood. "Come on, Ha-eun! You don't have to be so grumpy all the time. It's just one concert. One night. You might actually have fun."

Ha-eun glanced sideways at her cousin but said nothing. She hated crowds and loud noises. She hated the way people expected her to be interested in things she didn't care about. Most of all, she hated the way Minji treated her like a kid who needed saving — like she was trapped inside some invisible box of loneliness.

Minji tugged at her sleeve. "You've been cooped up in your apartment for weeks. You never hang out with anyone. You should get out more. Besides..." She lowered her voice conspiratorially, "I have tickets to Han Seo-jun's concert. Front row."

Ha-eun's eyes widened. "Front row? That's..." She swallowed, trying not to sound too excited. "That's impossible. Seo-jun's fans would kill to get front row tickets."

Minji grinned proudly. "Exactly! And guess who I know?"

Ha-eun rolled her eyes but felt a tiny spark of curiosity. Han Seo-jun was everywhere — the hottest K-pop idol, adored by millions. His face was on every billboard, his songs blasted through every speaker in the city. Yet, to Ha-eun, he was just a voice in the background noise, a celebrity she barely cared about. She preferred books and quiet corners, not screaming fans and flashing cameras.

They turned a corner, and the neon lights of the concert hall blinked into view. A massive steel structure pulsed with colorful lights, thumping bassbeats rolling out into the street like waves. Crowds of teenagers in Han Seo-jun merchandise swarmed the entrance, their excited chatter filling the air.

Minji grabbed Ha-eun's hand, pulling her forward. "Come on! This is going to be amazing."

Ha-eun let herself be pulled along, her heart pounding for reasons she didn't fully understand. She hated the noise, the chaos, but also... part of her felt like this might be the only chance to break out of her invisible box.

Inside the venue, the air was thick with sweat and anticipation. Fans waved lightsticks, their faces glowing under the stage lights. Ha-eun found her seat—E14—a spot near the middle of the front row. From here, the stage looked like a dreamscape of glitter and flashing colors.

She sat down, trying to disappear into her hoodie, but the roar of the crowd made her skin tingle. Minji was beside her, bouncing with excitement. "You're going to love this."

Ha-eun wasn't so sure. As the music started, the flashing lights and booming beats threatened to overwhelm her senses. She closed her eyes, wishing she were anywhere but here.

You. Don't Leave

The lights dimmed further, plunging the arena into near darkness, and the collective breath of thousands of fans held tight in anticipation. Ha-eun's heartbeat hammered in her ears, not from excitement, but from the pressure of the overwhelming atmosphere.

Then, suddenly, the stage exploded into light.

Han Seo-jun appeared, sharp and radiant under the spotlight, his presence commanding every eye in the stadium. His dark hair shimmered with hints of violet in the glow, and his sleek black outfit glistened with silver embellishments that caught the light every time he moved.

Minji screamed beside Ha-eun, "There he is! Oh my god, he looks even better in person!"

Ha-eun watched quietly, trying to focus on something other than the intensity of the moment.

Seo-jun opened the concert with his latest hit, his smooth voice weaving through the melody just like a thread of silk. The crowd sang with him, waves of voices rising in harmony. Minji grabbed Ha-eun's hand, squeezing it in excitement.

"That's his new song, 'Midnight Bloom.' It's my favorite!"

Ha-eun smiled faintly. Minji's enthusiasm was infectious.

As Seo-jun moved into his setlist, he danced with effortless grace — every move precise and full of energy. His smile was dazzling, the kind that made fans swoon and cameras flash nonstop. He wiped his brow with a towel, then threw a playful wink toward the crowd, sending the arena into a frenzy.

Minji sang along at the top of her lungs, her voice clear and joyful. "He's so cute! And stylish! Look at his jacket!"

Ha-eun found herself watching Seo-jun more closely than she expected. There was something magnetic about him — the way he owned the stage, but also the vulnerability in his eyes when he sang certain songs. It was hard not to be drawn in.

Then, in the middle of the third song, something unexpected happened.

Seo-jun paused, his eyes scanning the crowd with a sharp intensity. Slowly, his gaze locked onto Ha-eun's seat—E14. The spotlight shifted, and suddenly, all eyes were on her.

For a moment, the world seemed to hold its breath.

Seo-jun pointed directly at her, his smile softening into something genuine and almost shy.

"You," he said clearly, voice cutting through the music, "don't leave."

The entire stadium erupted.

Cameras flashed wildly, and the giant screens above the stage zoomed in on Ha-eun's stunned face. The crowd roared, chanting his name and cheering for the mysterious girl who had just been singled out.

Minji squealed, "Oh my god! Did you see that? He saw you!"

Ha-eun's cheeks burned crimson, but she looked away, overwhelmed by the sudden attention.

Seo-jun continued the song, his voice more passionate, as if he was singing just for her. The lights danced across the stage, flickering in rhythm with the music, creating an almost dreamlike atmosphere.

Minji sang along with every word, lost in the magic of the moment. The fans around them screamed, danced, and waved lightsticks, their energy contagious.

As the concert progressed, Seo-jun's charm was impossible to ignore. Between songs, he tossed flirtatious smiles and playful gestures toward the crowd, making hearts flutter.

"Thank you for coming tonight!" he said with a grin, eyes sparkling under the stage lights. "I hope you're all having the best time."

He wiped sweat from his brow, a small dimple showing when he smiled. "You guys are amazing."

Minji leaned in, whispering, "He's so adorable. And talented. And perfect."

Ha-eun just nodded, still trying to process everything.

When the final song began, Seo-jun's voice soared higher, the crowd joining in louder than ever. The stadium glowed with thousands of synchronized lightsticks, creating a sea of shimmering color.

As the last note faded, Seo-jun took a deep bow and blew a kiss toward the crowd. The applause was deafening.

Minji grabbed Ha-eun's arm excitedly. "Did you see him look at you? I think he's going to find you."

Ha-eun swallowed hard, a mix of fear and curiosity swirling inside her.

Maybe this concert would change everything — or maybe it would just be a moment she'd never forget.

Either way, she wasn't the same girl who had walked into the arena.
