Chapter 1
Once upon a time there was a Kingdom known as Magsal.
The name of the King of Magsal was Rajendra Singh Chauhan. He was 32 years old. He was fearless, brave, cheerful and courageous soldier, before becoming king he fought to save the entire kingdom from attack of its enemy kingdom which was Kingdom Belam.
King of Magsal, Veermendra Shah before Rajendra was cruel, rude king. In the war, he was amazed with bravery and intelligence of Rajendra and how he made all the soldiers of Belam to fall under ‘Zuki Warfare trap’ (This trap is similar to guerilla warfare used by Shivaji Maharaj). He was impressed so much with Rajendra that he announced him as the king of Magsal.
Rajendra Singh Chauhan became the king of Magsal.
He was not happy with the life he was living. He was living a luxurious life he just needed someone to whom he can share his thoughts, feelings. He was also getting old.
So, he thought of getting married with a princess. He told this to his vice chief (Mantri) that he wanted to marry and told him not to tell anyone before he asks him to.
But vice chief had some other plans, he spread this news to 50 kingdoms without telling to his king and he was so expert in spreading a message that he did not let anyone know, so that no one tells king.
When he sent letters to all kingdom, he wrote in it that you have 1 year time to train your daughter because the competitions will be tough.
After one year, Rajendra got so many proposals for marriage that he could not decide whom to marry. He was confused that, how he got all the proposals. He was thinking of proposals and was saying I did not tell the vice chief to tell the kingdoms and suddenly there in the room, vice chief came and said may I have a guess of what you are thinking.
Rajendra- yes, you can have but how will you? Do you have magical powers?
Vice chief- just wait for 10 seconds and I will read your mind.
After 10 seconds he acted like he was reading mind but he was using Krongola and said that you are thinking about how you got so many proposals. King said how you know this. Vice chief said I knew you were thinking about this only because, if anyone would get so many proposals without even telling anyone about his wish to marry then anyone would read his mind.
I only told you the wish, how 50 kingdoms came to know? Then Vice chief said did you forget you told this to me.
When king heard this, he smacked his hand on his forehead. So, he announced a competition of princesses who wants to marry him.
The night before the competition king and vice chief both discussed the challenges. There were 5 competitions.
In morning vice chief, Vardhan Raj said ‘the one who will qualify all five rounds will marry the king’.
Vardhan Raj explained every princess that competitions were: -
1) In first round- They have to make king’s favorite food which was kesar jaggery kheer (Kheer is a type of sweet snack made with rice and milk).
2) In Second round- They had to make chilang which is finely painted kurta with natural dyes and elaborated curvy design.
3) In Third round- They have to shoot an arrow at the middle of the target at the red point.
4) In Fourth round- They have to defeat the most intelligent person of the kingdom in the game of chaturanga and solve more than 10 problems of kingdom. (Chaturanga is type of chess played in 6th century)
5) In Fifth round- It is the toughest as they have to defeat all skilled warriors and then they have to defeat ‘Varan’ the most powerful and almighty warrior.
Before the competition they were given a conformation letter to sign that if anything happened to them then, the members of committee will not be responsible. The kings also agreed for this agreement. The terms given in this letter was not read carefully by many princesses.
The competition was no ordinary which anyone could have aced, it had different mazes the challenges were the only outer difficulties but the real began when everyone entered the arena.
In first round, the recipe was to be made from the natural ingredients like for rice they had to find the perfect paddy and harvest and crush them to make the rice.
In the first round after completing the recipe they had to read the instructions written on the wall. The instructions were-
1.Form teams of 10 participants each.
2.Solve the puzzle and proceed.
3.Find the scraps from the maze.
4.Escape the maze and first 5 from each team will qualify for the next round.
One girl asked the management by the report call method (In this method the participants had access to the broadcast mic which was connected to a large announcer outside) that we were not given any type of information like this.
The management- all that would happen were given in the agreement that you signed and our vice chief was only there to explain the challenges.
In second round, the material for clothes was given but they had to make the kurta that perfectly fits king. They had to weave it perfectly and then pick the right colors and then start painting. If any mistake in making the kurta was done, it would lead to the disqualification.
In the third round, after they shot arrows, the arrow needed to be with perfect speed and power. They had to shoot two arrows one after another for perfect speed and power, the power of two arrows were required.
In fourth round, remaining participants were required to play four chaturanga matches and in the last round they had to develop a new tactic which was not used by anyone before. They needed to win 3 matches and 1 draw was allowed. Since the game was most popularized in Magsal as an entertainment source people here had mastery in this game and they were almost impossible to defeat by an outsider.
In fifth round, after the fight was over, they had to clear the forest and cave with their sword from the fight. The forest had group of deer and elephants which when attacked had their peak form develop. The cave had lily spiders and downhead bats which had same properties like deer and elephants but were able to cause mysterious effects.
Since they were also being watched by a large number of audience so they had a lot of pressure on them which made some princess tremble in the beginning itself.
At the end the results were- 25 princesses got disqualified in the first round then 10 in second round, 5 in third round, 5 in the fourth round, 3 in the fifth round. There were two princesses left, who were “Jigyasa and Adveta”.
Luckily no one had serious injuries or had died. The participants were given a button which when pressed the challenge would be stopped.
Rajendra was confused in choosing whom to marry so he decided to have one more competition. He whispered the challenge in Vardhan’s ear. Then vice chief said those two girls who passed all five rounds will have to come tomorrow in the palace and tomorrow another competition will be held.
Jigyasa was from kingdom of water and Adveta was from kingdom of nature which was once destroyed by the forest fire so they had to live in great depression. The most probable challenge that could have happened was a survival challenge which Adveta a huge advantage.
When they came tomorrow, the competition was
COLD OLD LIFESTYLE SURVIVAL
In this they had to light up the candles but without using matches, they could only light up candle by flame spark produced by rubbing stone or rotating thin stick on a broad piece of a wood, board and stone they will have to find in the forest. Total quantity ofcandles was 500 and after lighting 100 candles they only had 10 chances to light more 150 candles after lighting 250 candles in total they had only 2 hours to light the rest 250 candles.
Adveta won the competition from Jigyasa by 1.01 seconds and king married her. The decoration was full of gold, silver, diamond.
More than 200 priests came to perform the ritual. More than 20 kingdoms were invited. The place where both married is said to be the one of the purest and beautiful places in the world because in ancient time god came at that place and left his footprint.
Till some years king and queen were living happily they were in peace, they had no worries, they explored many areas, signed new treaties with the kingdom, made some allies and also fought some wars and won together. But after some years they felt someone was missing which was their child. To whom they can play with, announce him as the prince / successor.
Adveta gave birth to a boy. They called the famous priest Raj Kishori Lal from the temple to perform all rituals for protection and good will of the baby.
After performing rituals, the king called all the priests of the kingdom and asked them to suggest him a name for his son. After thinking more than 45 minutes one of the priests said that name should match your personality as you are veer and you are also Lord Shiva’s devotee. (Veer means brave or courageous in English and Lord Shiva is a god in Hinduism.)
Your son’s name should be similar to this and then Rajendra named his son Veershankar Chauhan.
