Barely Surviving
Rose started noticing her surroundings slowly. First she noticed the silence and then she started noticing her semi dark room. She was so engrossed in writing her book that eventually at one point she stopped noticing everything around her. She became detached from her own reality but now everything was different. When she reached the last chapter of her book, she went blank. There was no new idea for the ending. Rose gave up and went downstairs to the kitchen. She started making herself coffee and noticed how late at night it was. ďťż
Rose lived with her family (mother, father, elder sister and brother). Right now all of them were fast asleep except for her sister. No one actually knew properly what her sister did to earn her pay and Rose was not interested to learn more about her. Rose sat at the kitchen table and was stirring her coffee. Then it happened. The time slowed down. Something in Roseâs subconscious told her that something was really wrong and she needed to move. Quickly she tried to call out to someone but she couldnât move her mouth. She heard her sister coming through the entrance door. That was a good sign. Her sister was going to check in the kitchen because of the lights and then it would be her job now to figure out what was wrong with Rose that she could not even move her finger.
Rose blacked out completely right then and when she woke up, she was laying on the forest ground. She tried to sit up and a pain shot through her leg. Rose looked down and a sharp breath escaped her. Her leg was stabbed brutally. A screeching scream escaped her throat.
Rose stayed there for a long time. When she managed to gather a little bit of strength, she looked down and saw a fading scar on her left hand. Roseâs memory was spiked instantly, the only person she knew who had a scar on her hand was Lily Wilson. Lily was the side character in her novel who died in the forest. âGreat! Now Iâm either hallucinating or vivid dreamingâ Rose thought. She pressured her brain to remember how Lily actually died in the forest. Rose heard the footsteps from far away. âLily was actually followed through the forest without her knowing and then they managed to kill her eventually.â Thoughts swirled around Roseâs mind and at last she came to the conclusion that she needed to move fast.
Rose took the fallen tree branch and started moving with the help of it. The pain was excruciating but she managed to move by telling herself that none of this is real. Roseâs feet stumbled and she fell again. She didnât know if she would be able to reach the gates but she knew one thing and it was that she is not going to give up before trying.
Part of Lilyâs flaw was that she gave up too soon and hoped that someone would eventually be going to save her. That was the mistake that Rose was not going to make. So she kept moving and moving until she made it out of the forest area and saw the gate ahead. The gate of the mansion.
Now the only thing she needed to do was to tell the guard that she needed help but before she could take another step, she lost balance and fell. The bleeding of her leg became worse than before. Now her vision was starting to give out and that was not a good sign for her. No matter how worse her condition was right now, she knew that she needed to act way quicker now or maybe that was not quite possible.
