Prologue: While Jahweh Patiently Waited
Jahweh simply couldn’t escape his anger any longer. They had left him all alone while his own siblings helped Lucifer enlist a wide variety of changes involving a 3-tier Magical System that would take all those systems he had left behind and giving the power of those abilities to the new, massive amount of magicians who came in huge crowds to the three separate academies his siblings and Lucifer’s Friends found the locations of the new sprawling schools that literally came to life in only a few days and then the Tomes themselves were written and the instructors became the first practitioners of the new schools and administrators began weeding from the larger groups which of the schools these new students belonged to.
Initially, Jahweh had tried to keep his movements and plans a complete secret moving around by foot and with the cover of darkness to hide his movements from his siblings and Lucifer’s dreaded Friends of Morningstar. That was a brief two and a half days before his longtime companion showed his face and Metatron was not the snobby, secretive angel he once had been—and he hadn’t found Jahweh by accident but rather to question him extensively about the state of the planet Earth.
“What are you doing hiding in the gloomy darkness, like it’s the most important thing for our Great Father to be doing while the cause of the Fall and everything else Lucifer’s responsible for is building schools of Magic, father—magic of all the blasphemous things to do after making a fool of you with your—your family—holding the whip for him! What are you going to do? There’s so many things they are blaming you for, Father!” Metatron all but shouted at Jahweh, having a difficult time controlling the volume of his voice and what he was trying not to do—dragging Jahweh to each of the schools preparing for their grand opening in under a week.
“Metatron, you’ve never behaved so erratically, not in front of me—lots of that happening lately, I’ve noticed since my return to Earth, and all of these changes which certainly wouldn’t have been—well,” Jahweh’s voice broke up on the words he heard himself using, unable to take them back, “not be tolerated in the beginning.”
“Certainly not, there wouldn’t have been anyone who might’ve questioned your law.The world has, well it certainly isn’t the same one you charged me with putting its makeup and laws —and the whole way of things down using the Voice of God to ensure it would remain long after the word was written into law—your law, Father.”His face had drawn itself into long, severe lines that tried to remain hidden among the shadows of the soon breaking dawn.
“Don’t hide your face from me, my son. This is just the newest, most extreme usurping of the Order that this world so desperately needs and it shall fail just as the Fall and all other acts of pure chaos and rebellion have over these long years…,” Jahweh looked confused and certainly concerned with Metatron’s reaction to his reply.“This is the most ambitious of Lucifer’s plans, but his Magic won’t work unless an angel or non-human is the one attempting using it—,” Jahweh’s own brow furrowed in concern that he luckily kept hidden from sight of his chief scribe.
“A-a-are you sure, Father? I’ve been to each of the schools after they so quickly were built even as gigantic as each of them are, and i saw your brothers and sister showing the first classes—the first instructors of this new magic system your family has thought up!I’ve seen magical spells bring life—and almost anything else that it turns out isn’t exactly impossible as..well as you’ve told me—told the world!” Metatron had dropped to his knees before Jahweh, his moist pleading eyes searching Jahweh’s own reaction to this world-shaking news, tears running down his cheeks, far too hot on his skin.He paused to wipe his tears off his burning skin with the back of his hands. He sniffled up excess tears escaping from his nose.
“Sure of what you saw?” Jahweh stood tall and held out his hands to Metatron to help him back onto his feet.“Don’t try fighting back your tears, old friend. It will be okay, just tell me everything that you saw—all that you can verify because you were there—I’m sure it’s just some more of Lucifer’s trickery but I am curious now.” He smiled and drew Metatron deeper into the thick forest that they were at the very edge of.
“Finally! Im so happy that i was able to pinpoint your location once the first whispers of your disappearance fell upon my ears.” Metatron exclaimed and was moving rapidly towards the Forests edge but he had taken only four paces from Jahweh’s pause in movement when he noticed that Father was no longer with him.“I knew you weren’t hiding from the world but just coming up with a plan to reverse all these changes.”
Once he noticed that his Father wasn’t saying or moving at all, he stopped talking and turned towards Jahweh, but the light was different now only a few more minutes towards sunrise but it was just light enough that the deep edges of Jahweh’s wrinkles were standing out in worry lines that were more tragic than anything Metatron had ever seen.“Are you camping around here somewhere?”
“I haven’t been sleeping lately, so no need for a camp to be set up and not used,” Jahweh’s face cleared up almost quickly enough that it crossed Metatron’s mind that he had only been imagining the forlorn look on Father’s face but the thought seemed too much like wishful thinking.
“This is a fairly desolate area and nobody has even showed up by accident so we should be fine while you tell me what little spells you think you saw my brothers and sister perform,” he grinned at Metatron in mockery of his concerns but the grin faltered quickly at Metatron’s slack-jawed expression.
“What is it, son?” He asked.
“It’s more than just minor little spells—I’ve seen and brought copies of the three magic tomes.” Metatron pulled a cell phone from a pocket and gently shook it at Father. “I took photos of all the pages in each of the books of magic. And even though i was caught doing that, the only words they gave me were that it’s likely going to be heavily edited and revised before put to use in the hands of students.”
Metatron held the phone outward briefly towards Jahweh with a look of pure and simple beggars gaze directed at Jahweh. He returned the gaze with one of disinterest as he looked towards the device.“Why do you come with these stolen bits of Lucifer’s latest series of games and deceptions?Have I ever listened to any counsel offered in such a time?” And then paused but Metatron’s gaze only intensified.“Might as well speak, the very words seem to be gathered together behind your lips, begging to escape your mouth.”
Metatron held the phone in his right hand and began powering on the device. His eyes inspected the ground between his feet as the device hummed into life, as he gathered the words together that he was packaging for Jahweh’s own ears.“You have never taken any counsel nor i or any other has offered you, and I for one had never even tried offering you words of wisdom for you are our Father and creator and likely knew what I might say to you, Metatron paused now getting ready to make his only point in showing the Creator of All Things and hand the cell phone to him for his own eyes to judge, “but this isn’t like any plot or scheme Lucifer has come bearing in the past. It’s well planned and orchestrated from end to end and he brought persons who claim relation to you, Father. And the tomes I’ve brought for your eyes to judge aren’t Lucifer’s usual methods of spell casting either, and also seem to hold enough water to become troublesome in their new world of order to replace and render your own books of laws and history baseless and out of date, obsolete.”
Metatron then held out the cell phone near enough to Jahweh that Father had no choice but to look over the strange, modern thing and take it in his hand ad glance at it, mystified by its strangeness before allowing his head to hang low as he shook it back and forth. The questionable look Jahweh had been wearing had fallen away replaced by a decision-making look that troubled him for several minutes before he called for Metatron to come and show him the use of the phone as it was used as a camera for the storing of the images that made up the books Metatron had tried stealing for Jahweh to destroy or not.“I can’t use this thing, it’s beyond my thinking, come and show me how?”
“Yeah, sure thing, Father, I don’t know what i was thinking handing you this thing.” Metatron began and then broke directly into how to make the device work, “Use the numbers as the directions they point to, making the arrow move from icon to icon…,” he then stopped and seen that Jahweh had no intention nor interest in learning how to operate it but was the one who father expected to operate the cell phone for him.“Just show me these tomes of magic you copied onto the device.” He grumbled lowly so as only Metatron would hear the command.
“Of course, father, my apologies…there are 3 new and different schools that Lucifer and the other three who so bound you to Earth have designed.Book of Translocation, Book of Protection from Higher Beings, and finally the Book of Mortal Mitigation.” He licked his lips and stared at the ground once more.“these are much more dangerous and structured than any other magic designs Lucifer constructed in his past—they are still Chaos-Driven but not random but meaningful for the purpose of deconstructing the systems and laws that you put in place but with the added feature of being only usable my humans.”
This caused a shadow to pass over Jahweh’s face as what Metatron was trying to explain set in his own mind, and as it did so, so did an important theme the newest order was using to add a universal theme that gave it true power—the humans would be in control once the new systems of law and order were in place and all the secrets Jahweh had incorporated into his way of doing things would be crushed or made obsolete.“It’s pure and unadulterated madness putting the humans in charge and breaking everything I ever built!” He shouted.
Jahweh found he had to do something to get this new way of things to be less like erasing and forfeiting his entire way of running his Earth.“Closer, Metatron, I must look at each page and read every single passage and word of casting or instruction.” Jahweh said in a similarly low tone that wouldn’t carry to ears Jahweh didn’t trust.
“Yes, so you see this plan is much more ambitious than others—making the Fall of Heaven look infantile in its construction and the way in which it fell onto itself and became worthless as anything but history of Lucifer’s final act of rebellion,” Metatron continued and was repaid with a withering glance from Jahweh who was gesturing for the Voice of God to be more or less silent and to hurry his slow, labored movements.
“Is there any specific place you would like to start? A book of one if the three perhaps?” Metatron asked and got his answer before even finishing asking his question.
“The Book of Mortal Mitigation,” Jahweh commanded in the scratchy version of his voice of command.
“That is the most dependent on its other Books, are you certain?”!Metatron suggested helpfully but was met with an angry, cold stare from Father, as he most often thought of Jahweh as.There was no further discussion on the matter, and then Metatron was pulling up the pages to the 3rd tome of magic in the new system of governance for Jahweh to examine them.He made mental notes but wrote nothing down on paper as he began reading and studying.
