A Crush Unfolds

Emily's heart skipped a beat as Jack walked into class. She'd had a crush on

him for what felt like forever. His charming smile and effortless charm made her

palms sweat.

As the teacher droned on, Emily's gaze drifted to Jack. He was laughing with

friends, oblivious to her admiration. Emily's face warmed.

She tried to focus on the lesson, but her mind wandered. She imagined Jack

noticing her, talking to her, and maybe even liking her back.

The bell rang, and class ended. Jack caught her eye, flashing a brief smile.

Emily's pulse quickened.

"Hey, Emily," he said, walking over. "Need help with the homework?"

Emily's mind went blank. "Uh, no, thanks."

Jack nodded and headed out. Emily watched, her heart racing. Why couldn't

she be more confident around him?

As she packed up her things, Emily's best friend, Sarah, approached. "Hey,

girl! What's up?"

Emily sighed. "Just Jack being Jack."

Sarah grinned. "Still crushing hard, huh?"

Emily blushed. "Shh, don't tell anyone."

Sarah winked. "Your secret's safe with me."

The two friends walked out of class, discussing their plans for the weekend.

Emily couldn't help but sneak glances at Jack, who was chatting with friends.

Sarah noticed. "Emily, focus! You're going to drool on yourself."

Emily playfully rolled her eyes. "Shut up."

At lunch, Emily and Sarah sat with their usual group. Jack was at a nearbytable, surrounded by admirers. Emily's gaze kept drifting toward him.

Sarah nudged her. "Stop staring, Em."

Emily's cheeks flushed. "I'm not staring."

Sarah chuckled. "Sure you're not."

After lunch, Emily had a free period. She decided to work on her homework in

the library. As she settled in, she felt a sense of calm wash over her.

Just as she began writing, Jack appeared beside her. "Mind if I join you?"

Emily's heart skipped a beat. "Uh, no, not at all."

Jack sat down, and they worked together in comfortable silence. Emily couldn't

believe her luck.

As they packed up to leave, Jack turned to her. "Hey, Emily? Want to study

together sometime?"

Emily's pulse raced. Was he interested? "Yeah, that sounds great."

Jack smiled, and Emily's heart soared...

Emily's heart still racing, she exchanged numbers with Jack. They planned to

meet at the library the following day.

As she walked home, Emily couldn't stop smiling. Was this the start of

something special?

The next day, Emily arrived early, nervously fidgeting with her books. Jack

walked in, flashing his charming smile.

"Hey, Emily," he said, setting down his bag. "Ready to study?"

Emily nodded, trying to appear calm. They worked together, discussing topics

and sharing notes.

Their conversation flowed effortlessly. Emily felt herself relaxing around Jack.

As they took a break, Jack asked about her interests. Emily opened up,

sharing her passion for art.Jack listened intently, his eyes sparkling with genuine interest. "I've always

admired your sketchbook," he said.

Emily's cheeks flushed. "You noticed?"

Jack nodded. "Yeah, you're really talented."

The study session flew by. As they packed up, Jack walked Emily home.

"Thanks for the study session," Emily said, feeling a sense of disappointment

that it was over.

Jack smiled. "Anytime. Maybe we can do it again soon?"

Emily's heart skipped a beat. Was he hinting at something more?

As they stood outside her house, Jack leaned in slightly. "I really enjoyed

today, Emily."

Emily's pulse raced. "I did too."

Jack's eyes locked onto hers, and for a moment, Emily thought he might kiss her..
