Prologue
"You... you're Poppy's angel..."
The woman stared at him, her eyes wide open in horror, her hands going to her mouth as she stared at his half-eaten body, hanging from straps and waiting for its death.
"You came to save us." His voice held hope for a moment, but it quickly disappeared. "But there's nothing left to save, not here." He agreed, defeated.
"You... are Poppy's friend?" Her voice was so soft.
"Yeah... she was such a sweet doll. I'm glad she at least didn't end up like me." For a moment, he was lost in thought. "But that doesn't matter anymore. There are millions of eyes watching you, Angel. You have to get out of here. You have to live."
"What happened to you?"
"Catnap. The Prototype is his God... And this... is what he does to heretics." He spoke slowly, feeling the lack of air from his body, so tired. "He makes those little toys eat you alive, get inside you and devour you from the inside... It's... a complete hell."
The woman let out a gasp of terror. Everything was worse than she thought.
"Angel, you have to go. You... can still save another..." he stopped when he heard a gunshot and immediately felt his body fall a little. "W-What...?" Straining a little, he looked up; one of the straps had snapped. Immediately there was another shot, and another strap snapped. "What are you doing, Angel?"
"I'm going to get you out of here," the woman said, shooting at one of the straps holding his hands and then the other. He fell, and she caught him.
"Angel?" He looked at her, confused. "You shouldn't have wasted your bullets on me. If you take me with you, I'll just be a hindrance to you. I'm no longer-"
"I don't care!" she said. "I came here to save, not to abandon. That includes you too. If I can save you, I'll save you."
Small chuckles began to sound. They both knew that meant trouble.
White eyes peered out in the darkness.
"Oh no. OH NO!" Dogday screamed in terror. Those little cannibals were about to devour them. "Get away!"
"Let's go!" He felt her grab him and started to run. "Have faith! We'll get through this! I'll save you! I promise!"
Dogday didn't have enough strength, but he was still terrified, but he was so tired, so tired of everything.
He... he just wanted it all to be over.
His eyes began to droop and close.
It didn't matter if he died now; at least he knew this angel had done everything possible to save him.
"Thank you, Angel," he said before falling unconscious.
To be continued...
