Dicen que el tiempo que pasa es una hoja que cae

marchita en el otoño seco de una seca tarde

de un árbol risueño que ahora ha llorado

cientos de hojas entre suelos dorados.


Dicen que el tiempo que pasa es la lluvia que riega,

que llena de barro caminos y piedras,

es el frío y la nieve del duro invierno,

es el viento que arrastra, es el ocaso eterno.


Dicen que el tiempo que pasa son las arrugas del anciano,

cuyos surcos señalan la dureza de la vida,

es la belleza que se escapa de las sendas de lo antaño,

es el barco imperturbable que nos lleva a la deriva.


Dicen que el tiempo que pasa es el niño pequeño

que empieza a morir desde el momento que nace,

es la existencia que se aleja como un sueño,

son las pesadillas, son los obstáculos, son todos los males.


Dicen que el tiempo que pasa es el reloj que marca

aquello que nos queda hasta la muerte

en el destino, en la fortuna, en la suerte,

es el instante que nos devora y que nos mata.


Pero yo no quiero ese tiempo de melancolía,

yo no quiero ese tiempo de temor y dolor,

yo solo quiero aferrarme con fuerza a la vida,

y sentir del ser humano su cálido abrazo de amor.
