Poem: “The Heart’s Domain”

Hear now, O heart, thou chamber of flame,

Once forged in silence, yet bound by name.

Too oft thou wanderest in selfish reign,

Gathering shadows, and reaping vain gain.

But lo! A fire awaits, a trial untold,

To temper the spirit as smiths do with gold.

Through furnace of truth, through ashes of night,

Thou shalt be purged, and rise into light.

Let not deceit be thy secret tongue,

Nor treachery hidden where songs are sung.

For kingdoms have fallen when hearts betray,

And crowns turn to dust at the breaking of day.

Be then an oasis, a well ever clear,

Where pilgrims may drink and find courage near.

From thee let treasures unending pour,

A river of grace, an eternal store.

So guard thy borders, O heart of mine,

Keep watch on thy gates, let wisdom align.

For he who would walk in the halls of the free,

Must master the heart, lest the heart master thee.
