Chapter 1- Tiara

As the sun shines through her curtain, Tiara’s mother walks in with a plate of pancakes.

The typical breakfast for the last 10+ years of her life. But, this time her mother’s enthusiasm for her birthday was missing. Today she turns 15 and in two weeks, she will be moving out of the only home she has ever known.

Like every other wolf coming of age, she will be sent to SeaSide Academy. A tradition for her pack for over 100 years.

There are six packs in the region and each council has agreed to specific terms to keep the peace between them.

Each pack will send their wolf children to Seaside when they turn 15. Where they will stay, learn and grow till they turn 18.

They will learn of the history of all 6 packs. To avoid any blood shed and wars in the future.

If mates are cross packed matches, this makes for easier meetings. Wolfs with mates are always stronger.

Each council will send one member of the pack to teach certain areas, pack history, and help maintain the school.

Wolves are expected to attend and anyone that doesn’t is forced into banishment.

“Thanks mom! You’re breakfast pancakes are always my favorite meal choice!” Tiara smiled warmly at her mother. Sensing her hesitation.

My mother has never been a fan of SeaSide. She herself was forced to go 20 years ago. I’ve heard the horror stories.

Rough training, spoiled drama queens and the most irresponsible pranks and parties.

I never want to be involved in any of that, I plan to stick to myself; keep my head down and get this over with as fast as I can.

Mother broke me out of my thoughts. “Eat up sweetheart! We have a lot of shopping to do before your big party! Meet me downstairs when you are ready to go!”

Taking the pancakes, I dig in before heading for a quick shower.

Looking in the mirror as I dry my long auburn hair, similar to my mothers; hers a shade brighter red then mine, I wonder what SeaSide will hold for me. Atleast Taytum, my very best friend since birth will be there with me. Our other friend, Brina, she sadly won’t be joining us this year. Her birthday falls to late in the year.

We’re like the three musketeers. We never are apart and this is going to be the first time. Brina, with her chocolate brown hair and stunning green eyes, will be alone. My heart aches for her. A single tear leaves my crystal blue eyes thinking about it.

My older brother, Tate, snaps me back to reality. “Princess mom wants to head out. Are you ready?”

At a staggering 6’4”, my dark haired brother can not be missed. We share the same eye color and skin tone, beautifully tanned. People offen joke that if I wasn’t a red head, they’d think we were twins.

My brother is scary, in my opinion, not that he would ever hurt me. He’s my absolute favorite person. That however is expected when youre the future Alpha. My Uncle, the current Alpha of our pack, The Dire Fang’s, had no children after his Luna died during birth. Ultimately losing his son in the process. My father the Beta of our pack becomes next in line. But, he’s always said he would never take it from his brother. He wouldn’t even take it after he passes. So Tate has always been deemed next in line.

“Yeah, im ready. Are you coming Tate?”

“I sure am. It’s your birthday and we always spend the whole day together. Plus mom wants me to be around to approve purchases for SeaSide… with me going into my Junior year and all, she needs my expertise!” He chuckles.

“Yeah your expertise of seeing inside the females dorms!!” I push past him. Laughing as we head down the stairs.
