I can’t stop myself from smiling at him. He’s exactly the type of man I’ve always wanted. Someone not afraid to claim, and not afraid to throw hands.
Garrett cleans up nice, and that tailored black suit makes him look so good. I kind of want to skip dinner and go straight back to my apartment.
Everyone’s talking, but it’s pretty quiet, just the sound of forks and glasses. No getting wasted or yelling. The jazz music is playing softly, and I’m swaying to it.
The cool air on the patio is so nice; it’s hitting my arms, and I can smell cologne and the food lingering in the air. The place has a perfect vibe, with soft golden lights and candles everywhere.
I haven’t been to this rooftop bar before, but it’s kind of romantic. If he’s trying to impress me, it’s working.
Couples are leaning in close to talk. The city skyline glows behind them, skyscraper windows glittering like scattered stars.
“I told you it was about work. He’s not even my type.”
“You almost got that man killed.”
