"I love the story-within-a-story technique, and the way the relationship between the characters is depicted, providing the reader with little clues instead of using lots of adjectives. Very nice descriptions as well. Good flow, maintains the interest. I only was surprised that a ham & eggs breakfast was deemed "poor". I would have thought gruel or porridge would be more accurate (?). A very nice read!"

"I found this story very original and one of those books that I simply can't stop reading until it is finished. Like the child who the story was being told to I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. I couldn't wait for the ending but I also hated to see it end. It was quite the fairy tale. I think a new name for the book is in order. Riverside just doesn't seem to fit the story nor does it grab the reader. I read the book based on the writer's introduction. The story just flowed. Never knowing what to expect next. Always wondering how it was going to end. Wonderful story filled with love, sorrow and magjc. Definitely worth the read."

Indeed it was put in a gentle and simple motion of slipping it in, I have never encountered such a way as this.
