Prologue
Hello readers, this is a story inspired by one of my favourite YouTubers when I was young. I hope you enjoy it, as this will be an adventure for both you and me!
In this world, magical and mythical creatures exist before humans. They are the first creatures to appear on Earth. Most are powerful and intelligent, while others simply exist within the natural ecosystem cycle. Each has its own territory or culture.
However, as humans start to coexist, they aren’t truly accepted as they are weaker and have shorter lives than other species. Humans mostly think of survival, territory, power, and knowledge. Yet their knowledge isn’t as far as dragons or elves, who can live longer than humans.
This had made a barrier that separated them from understanding each other. Resulting in endless bickering and arguments, creating false stories about each other, and taking their own lives, saying it is right when it’s not. As humans evolved, they found many ways to take down a few of these creatures for their own benefit. Simply created silent wars.
As time goes on, evil starts to conquer the mind of a human, resulting in the discovery of dark magic, where only be used by demons and other dark beings. Mercilessly, they took down humans and other creatures’ territory for revenge. They made shadow soldiers of the deceased and marched, creating havoc in the world.
In result, it caught the eye of the moon goddess and the goddess of magic. The situation upset them so much that they created magic crystals from their powers and chose one warrior to possess them. The warrior must use it to defeat the evil army. Unfortunately, he can’t do it alone. So, he requested the goddess’s permission to find companions and use the crystals. The goddesses allowed it, but with a few conditions.
“First, you may choose only six individuals for six crystals to each of them. Second, they must each be different creatures and backgrounds; you must never choose yours alone. Third, you should never approach them as yourself but as the warrior itself. Fifth, after your death, your spirit will stay and guide the next warrior, and so does the next warrior to another. Lastly, never reveal more than yourself,” the moon goddess declared.
At that moment, the warrior agreed and sealed his fate as the first warrior to possess the crystals. Before he went on his quest and returned, he asked the goddesses.
May I call myself a knight rather than a warrior, my goddess?
You may call yourself anything you desire.
Then may I also call my companions knights, too, my goddess?
As I have said, anything you desire… young knight.
Thank you, my goddess. I will bring peace to the world for you.
For many years, the knight and his companions defeated evil and triumphed. The knight continued his life of adventure in the world and explored. His companions have their own lives after he retrieved the six crystals that they possess and declared that no more danger would come. It is also to avoid more danger alluring towards them because of the power within the crystals they once held. With that, the knight disappeared from the world, leaving his glory and home to keep those he loved safe.
Before his final moments, the knight decided to turn the large crystal into jewelry to help the next generation to wield it easily. The knight drilled a small hole and attached a silver string to it, creating a plain necklace, wearing it till his death. In the end, the crystal necklace was taken and kept by a moon fairy until the next knight is chosen.
"Those that are and will be chosen were those that were different and unknown, kind and righteous, lovable and sweet, brave and strong. They will be among the humans, or demons, or other creatures that exist. Only one holds the first, and the others are theirs to choose. They will bring peace and keep the balance from tilting, and shall never reveal themselves as who they are."
