The Ultimate Search Engine
Google says you need eight hours of sleep to function properly. Indian parents say successful people wake up at 5 a.m., and somehow that argument ends there. Google suggests reducing stress for better mental health. Parents suggest studying harder because “once you get a good job, stress will automatically disappear.” I once searched “Why do I feel tired all the time?” and Google politely gave me possible causes. My parents looked at me once and diagnosed it as “too much phone.”
According to Google, mild fever requires rest and hydration. According to Indian parents, it requires turmeric milk, Vicks, two blankets, and immediate comparison with the neighbor’s child who “never falls sick.” When I searched career options online, Google showed me thousands of possibilities. My parents showed me three: doctor, engineer, or something that “has scope.”
The funniest part is confidence. Google sometimes says, “Results may vary.” Indian parents? Zero doubt. Absolute certainty. No loading symbol. No buffering. Just instant conclusions delivered with emotional authority.
In this battle of information versus experience, technology versus tradition, one thing is clear — Google may have data, but Indian parents have volume. And in the house, volume always wins.
