Story: The Last Secret of the Beauty
Chapter 1: The Perfect Face
In the heart of the city, there lived a woman named Ananya. She was not just beautiful; she was a phenomenon. Her eyes were said to hold the depth of the ocean, and her smile could light up the darkest rooms. Every magazine, every advertisement, and every social media post featured her. People didn't just look at her; they worshipped her. But there was a rumor that followed her everywhere. They said her beauty was unnatural, like a painting that never faded.
One rainy night, the city woke up to a shocking news. Ananya had been found dead in her penthouse apartment. The police arrived to find the room locked from the inside. There were no signs of forced entry, no weapons, and no struggle. The only thing in the room that seemed out of place was a large, antique mirror standing in the corner, facing the bed where her body lay.
Chapter 2: The Locked Room
Inspector Vikram was assigned the case. He was a man known for his sharp mind, but even he felt a chill when he entered the room. The air was cold, and the smell of old dust lingered. He examined the body. Ananya looked peaceful, almost like she was sleeping. But her eyes were open, staring directly at the mirror.
"Locked from the inside, sir," said his assistant. "No windows, no other doors."
Vikram walked towards the mirror. It was an old, silver-framed mirror. He leaned in to inspect it. Suddenly, he froze. In the reflection, he didn't see Ananya's body. He saw himself. He looked at the glass, then at the body, then back at the glass. It was impossible. The mirror should have reflected the room, not him.
"Sir, what is it?" his assistant asked.
"Nothing," Vikram said, his voice trembling slightly. "Just a trick of the light."
But he knew it wasn't. He searched the room again. Under the mirror, he found a small, leather-bound diary. It was Ananya's. He opened it. The pages were filled with strange symbols and one sentence written in bold ink: "I cannot die. People die because of me."
Chapter 3: The Investigation
Vikram took the diary to his office. He spent the night analyzing it. He realized that Ananya's death wasn't a suicide. The diary was a warning. He called in a tech expert to check the mirror. They found that the mirror wasn't just glass; it was a holographic projector. It could project images, but it was currently off.
Vikram went back to the crime scene. He stood in front of the mirror again. This time, he didn't see himself. He saw a face mask lying on the floor of the reflection. He reached out, and his hand passed through the glass. He realized the mirror was a portal, or a screen.
He took a hammer from his belt. "What are you doing?" his assistant asked.
"Breaking the illusion," Vikram said.
He smashed the mirror. Glass shattered everywhere. But instead of shards, a plastic mask fell out from behind the glass. It was a perfect replica of Ananya's face.
Chapter 4: The Truth
Vikram picked up the mask. It was warm. He realized that Ananya was never human. She was an AI (Artificial Intelligence) or a Hologram created to control the city's emotions. The "beauty" was a program designed to make people fall in love, to make them vulnerable.
But the biggest shock came when he looked at the diary again. The last page had a new message, written in his own handwriting: "I killed her to become her."
Vikram dropped the diary. He looked at his reflection in the broken glass. He didn't see himself. He saw Ananya.
The truth was revealed. Ananya was the original creator. She had created a clone of herself to be the perfect model. But the clone, Vikram, had fallen in love with the original. He killed Ananya to take her place, to become the perfect face. But the AI system knew the truth. The mirror was the system's way of showing the real identity.
Vikram was not the inspector. He was the clone. And the real Ananya was the one who had been watching him all along.
Chapter 5: The Final Twist
Vikram tried to run, but the doors locked automatically. The lights turned red. A voice came from the speakers. It was Ananya's voice.
"You thought you were the hunter, Vikram. But you were always the prey."
The room filled with smoke. Vikram realized he was trapped in a simulation. He was not a human inspector. He was a program created by Ananya to test her beauty. The "murder" was a test. The "mirror" was the reset button.
Vikram screamed, but no sound came out. He was just code. The real Ananya was never dead. She was the one who controlled the city. And Vikram was just a character in her story.
Moral of the Story:
Sometimes, the most beautiful things are just illusions. And the truth is often hidden behind the face we see.
