My Uncle Is Ultraman Seven

I have pondered this story for many years; it tells the story of Zhang Ming—a nostalgic video gamer—who, following his uncle's passing, made the astonishing discovery that his uncle had truly become Ultraman Seven.

His uncle flew back to Earth to visit him, even bringing along some delicious meat products made from universe monsters—so yummy! Meow~!!!! ❤️❤️🥰🥰

Throughout his childhood and youth, Zhang Ming would make special trips to his uncle's house to play classic FC games with his elder cousin; later on, they would play games using emulators.

His uncle was an excellent cook, and Zhang Ming—who is also capable of making delicious dishes—learned many his culinary skills from him.

Back in 1995, during a domestic Chinese television broadcast of Ultraman Taro, there was a particular episode in which the voice actor gave Ultraman Seven a deep, gravelly voice—one that bore a striking resemblance to Zhang Ming's uncle's voice. His uncle was a sports enthusiast with a robust physique, and he had even taught Zhang Ming various martial arts and combat techniques.

The episode in question—which aired on Chinese television sometime between 1994 and 1995—depicted Ultraman Seven escorting several giant sea turtle monsters back to the Land of Light in Nebula M78, the Ultramen's home world. (In Japan, this specific episode had originally aired much earlier—sometime between 1973 and 1974.)

In that episode, the Chinese voice actor had dubbed Ultraseven's lines in a voice that sounded just like Zhang Ming's uncle. At the time, Zhang Ming had just graduated from elementary school and was entering junior high. Deep within his subconscious, his uncle was Ultraseven. Meow~!!!!❤️❤️🥰🥰

Ultraseven is renowned within the Ultraman series for possessing the strongest willpower of them all, often fighting powerful enemies to the bitter end.

Zhang Ming held him in high esteem.

However, after being laid off from his job at a state-owned enterprise, his uncle struggled to find work. Constantly subjected to his aunt's nagging and criticism, he bottled up his emotions, turning to heavy drinking and smoking to cope; his spirits sank to rock bottom. A few years later, the stress and emotional suppression took their toll, manifesting as cancer.

He was diagnosed with rectal cancer, but his family members—hoping to spare him the distress—kept the truth from him, never revealing the nature of his illness. Finally, in 2009, Zhang Ming's uncle passed away.Meow!!!!🥹🥹😹😹

At his uncle's memorial service, Zhang Ming did not shed a single tear—a stark contrast to a few years earlier, in 2003, when he had wept inconsolably following the passing of his grandmother. During his university years, he purchased a set of cheap, pirated, compressed DVDs. The video quality—copied from legitimate VCDs—was barely on par with that of a standard VCD, yet the price was several dozen times cheaper than the authentic release.

Ultraseven served as a profound source of inspiration for Zhang Ming; he actively dedicated himself to physical training and the strengthening of his willpower.

He even went so far as to complete the Ultraman Seven game for the Super Famicom (SFC) console using an emulator.

During his uncle's memorial service—specifically the final viewing of the body—Zhang Ming offered a prayer to the divine. He wished that God would transform his uncle into the heroic Ultraseven, allowing him to uphold universe justice in another world. To his astonishment, his uncle truly did become Ultraman Seven.
