The hidden door of Luna Virelli

Summary

I woke up late. Ate leftovers. Ignored responsibilities like a responsible adult. Then someone knocked on my door. Twice. The problem? No one was there. What was there… was a small red box sitting on my “Go Away” mat. No name. No sender. Just three things inside: A key. A pen with my initials. And a message that made absolutely no sense— “The door is not where you think it is.” Now my wall is breathing, I may or may not have walked into a suspiciously magical garden, and there’s a girl staring at me like I’ve just made the worst mistake of my life. Hi. I’m Luna Virelli. And I have a feeling this is where everything goes wrong.

Her majesty and the knock

Episode 1 ♧ Her Majesty and the Knock

Today was a rather tardy day. I could say it drained me, but that would be dramatic… considering I accomplished absolutely nothing.

It all started with me—Her Majesty, by the way—waking up well after the crack of dawn. More like… lunchtime. I know, scandalous. But at least I’m not out there committing crimes. Low standards? Maybe. Still counts.

A splash of cold water revived me (barely), and my stomach immediately began protesting like it had been personally wronged. Naturally, I went searching for something delightful.

I found leftovers.

Cold. Lifeless. Offensive.

I ate them anyway.

Now, you’re probably already bored. I get it. Riveting story so far: girl wakes up late and eats sadness. But stay with me—because what happened next?

Suspicious.

There was a knock at the door.

I paused.

No one visits me. Ever. Not even by accident.

Still, I walked over—slowly, because if it was someone, they could wait—I opened the door.

Nothing.

No person. No footsteps. Just… air.

Now listen—I know what you’re thinking. “Hallucinations.” Rude. I heard it. Loud and clear.

I closed the door and returned to my royal duties of supreme loafing.

Then—

Another knock.

At this point, I was annoyed.

“Children,” I muttered. “Tiny, stinky agents of chaos.”

I marched back to the door, fully prepared to deliver a lecture no one asked for. But just before I reached it… something felt off.

A chill.

The kind that doesn’t ask permission. It just shows up.

Naturally, I ignored it and opened the door anyway.

And there he was.

Hunter.

My dog.

Tail wagging. Eyes hopeful. Completely unaware that he had just ruined a perfectly good mysterious moment.

Ha! Got you.

What were you expecting? A faceless creature? A ghost? Honestly, that would have been more interesting.

Episode 1 End ♧

But tell me… if it was just Hunter at the door… then who knocked the first time?
