SOL

I was going to go to hell.

I knew that since the day I set eyes on my father. He was just like me. Eviller than me. I knew he was going to die before me because of all the sins he committed. He was the reason I couldn’t step foot in church. He had made me do so many evil things that evil the devil could ask me to be his right-hand man.

I was well known around this place. Everyone knew me. I was the beauty of the town. Father says I have the kind of beauty that leads people to sin and to their deaths as well as commit adultery. He said as a girl, your beauty, purity, smile, body, charm and silence made every man fall at your feet. You must be quiet but know how to control a man but also keep him entertained so he wouldn’t go look for another cunt.

I wanted out of this life.

I knew I was doomed the day I saw my father. But I wanted to do better. I wanted out of this life I was living. I could just up and leave in the middle of the night, but it might end up with my father drowning me again listing all the things he had done in my life.

Satan had a plan for me.

I knew that because he was waiting for me down there I hell. But today wasn’t the day. Today, I was going to send someone else down to him. This lad who hadn’t shut up about airplanes and engines. I was listening to him appearing to be interested.

“Oh my God isn’t that Duke Moore?” I gasped looking over him. He turned around and I used the opportunity to pour the powder I had in a small vial in his drink. He turned back just in time for me to hide it.

“Probably missed him.” He murmured and I smiled.

“Well, I’ve got to go now. My father needs me.” I said then grabbed my drink. “Cheers.” He clinked his glass with mine and I winked at him when we both drank. I smiled, “I’ll see you on the other side.”Hell.

“The gathering tonight?” He asked confused and I nodded and patted his shoulder. “Does that mean I get to have you alone somewhere there?” I chuckled and winked at him before walking out of the restaurant. He would probably get his little heart attack in less than an hour. Enough for me to get out of this area and enough for me not to get charged with his murder.

I sighed hearing my phone ring. I clicked my tongue looking at the name on the phone.Father.“Is it done?” He asked and I hummed. “Good. Come back home. We have some guests to entertain.” He cut the call after that. I got into the car which was waiting for me. My driver, Jones drove off back to the estate.

It took hours for the maids to dress me in a befitting gown. They did my makeup simple but seductive. They left me to myself to wait until I wascalled uponby my father. I let out a loud sigh sitting on my window seat looking at the guests get out of their rides. I felt the air around me and let out a sigh. I wiggled my fingers feeling for energy. I felt water, I rose it from the glass it was in across the room and made it into odd shapes without taking my eyes off the window.

I hated this life.

But I had a debt to pay to my father. I heard a knock on the door and my fingers stopped moving as I heard the water swoosh back into the glass. “Lady Price, your father has called upon you downstairs.” A maid said and I nodded. I never bothered getting their names. The first maid I got acquainted with was shot right in front of me by my dad. He says the people you end up trusting are the ones that betray you. So don’t trust someone to trust you. No one’s going to hug you when you cry of betrayal and if you die of it, that same person is going to be the one who will throw flowers on your grave.

I stood up from my seat and straightened out my dress. Not a crease, just as he liked it. I looked at myself in the mirror at my sad dead look. I spread a smile on my face as my eyes lit up. I let it fall and I sighed rubbing my forehead. I was having a headache. I took some pills from my drawer and popped two into my mouth.

I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled again. I nodded. This was much better. I walked out of my room and walked downstairs. Damn, this bodice was killing me and this dress was itchy. I hated dresses. I smiled when I saw my father downstairs talking to people. He saw me and smiled warmly. This was us.

Our little lie of a life.

I walked to him and held his hand smiling. He kissed my cheek gently, but the firm press on my hand reminded me of what I was supposed to do. “Gentlemen.” I greeted. “Lady Price never ceases to amaze us with her beauty.” Lord Harris said. “You have a gem as a daughter Martin.” They all sang praises to my name, and I smiled politely as I could.

I went around entertaining the guests and making sure they were comfortable. We were the hosts after all. I looked around and felt that strangeness I felt since I entered the hall. Someone was watching me and there was nothing good about the eyes. I had yet to find them though.

My eyes snapped to the side in a second and I met a hard pair of eyes looking at me intently. It wasn’t like the other eyes which stared as I passed by. This one didn’t look at me with admiration, lust or jealousy no. It was like he had an agenda. I had never seen him around here before. He wasn’t from here. He wasn’t one of us. Probably invited by father.

I swayed a bit and was transported to another place and timeline.

“She looks small.” “Harmless.” “Like a doll.” “She looks dull.” “They say she’s a princess.” “Duchess. There’s a difference.” “She’s English.” “She’s one of us.” “They’ll kill her. She’s so pretty.” “They said they’d let us go.” “Do you really believe that?”

I felt a hand on my back and I blinked looking at the guy who walked away. “Are you okay milady?” a man asked and I nodded clearing my throat.

“Yes, yes please. Thank you.” He nodded and left. That was my gift. At least one of them.

Foresight.

I could see things before they happened. They seemed like a gift sometimes, but I didn’t really understand it. I get snippets of the future. I realized I couldn’t change the future. The future was certain and was going to happen. So, what I saw, I did. I never bothered changing it because it always happened.

This one was different. It was like my eyes were closed when they were talking. It looked like a lot of people in my head.

I waited for them to start filing out from the house. My father looked at me and hummed. “Come here.” I walked to him and he hugged me. “You did a good job tonight.”

I nodded, “Thank you father.”

“Any of those men you fancy?” He asked pulling away.

I shook my head, “No father.”

He smiled and pushed the strand of hair I had let down from my bun. “Good. They’ll only tie you down and slow you.” I nodded. “Goodnight. We have a lot of work tomorrow.”

“Yes father.” He kissed my head and I walked upstairs to my room. I took my bath and changed into cotton shorts and a tank top. I laid in my bed and sighed at the relaxing feeling. Damn, I needed a massage one of these days.

“My Queen, slow down.” I heard someone say running behind me. I giggled and lifted my dress and began to run faster. “Queen Marisol slow down.” “I have to tell my husband first.” I yelled still running. “He’s in court my queen.” One of the girls running behind me said. I giggled excitedly and took a turn and run into the courtroom.

My eyes brightened when I saw my husband seated on his throne listening to what the commander was saying. “My King.” I bowed and the maids behind me also did the same. “My Queen, shouldn’t you be resting? You-” “Can we please have the room My King?” I smiled sweetly and he looked at his right-hand man who nodded. “Court adjourned.” My husband said. They all bowed when they passed by me and my maids also left. My husband stepped down from the throne and walked towards me, “What did I say about running barefoot Marisol.” He murmured worried. “Let me see them.” I shook my head and smiled, “I have something to tell you.” “What is it?” I took his hand and put it on my stomach and stood on my toes. “I’m with child.” I whispered in his ears and stood back on my heels. He looked at me then my stomach and his eyes shone with happiness. “You-we-I-we made a child. We are going to have a child? We are going to be parents?” I nodded and he wrapped his arms around my waist and lifted me and twirled me in happiness. “Oh, I must be the happiest man alive.” I laughed, “Put me down On-”

I woke up to something being pressed in my mouth I held the hand and trashed around trying to remove it but I felt myself slip into a deep sleep. Damn, all I wanted to do was sleep.
