D.R. Solo: The Evil Technician in a Lab Coat

All Rights Reserved ©

Summary

To the elite scientists and corporate suits at the apex of the facility, she is just a ghost in a sterile white coat. They walk right past her. They assume she is just there to calibrate the heavy machinery, reset the terminal errors, and keep the massive high-tech consoles running smoothly. They think she is part of the background. They couldn't be more wrong. Dr. Solo doesn't just maintain the system—she owns it. Brilliant, cold, and entirely invisible to the people around her, she has spent months rewiring the facility's most dangerous experiments from the inside out. The world thinks mad scientists are driven by a desire for global domination or forbidden knowledge. But Dr. Solo’s motivation is far more precise, far more dangerous, and entirely personal. It all started with a single rejection. A single, broken promise. And now, she has the keys to the ultimate machine to ensure that score is settled permanently. Step into her lab. Watch her smile as the alarms start to sound. Because when a genius decides to burn it all down over a grudge, no one is safe.

Preface

It all started at an Outback Steakhouse.

Jessica Solo sat alone at the booth, nervously turning the stem of her wine glass. The deep red liquid swirled under the warm restaurant lights as she waited, checking her phone for the hundredth time. When he finally walked through the doors, her heart skipped a beat. He was wearing a sharp pinstripe suit, looking every bit the man she had envisioned a future with.

He walked toward the table, his expression unreadable, and slid into the booth across from her. He didn’t order a drink. He didn’t even look at the menu.

Instead, he just leaned in and broke the news with cold, devastating efficiency.

“I think we should stop seeing each other,” he said, his voice flat. “I’m not comfortable with this anymore.”

Inside Jessica’s chest, a world shattered. The ambient chatter of the restaurant, the clinking of silverware, the distant laughter—it all faded into a sharp, deafening ring. She stared at him, her chest tightening, her mind screaming in absolute denial. She refused to believe it was over. No. She refused to accept it.

He thought he could just walk away. He thought he could leave her behind like a broken machine.

He had no idea he had just flipped the switch on a monster.

He didn’t wait for her response. He simply slid out of the booth, turned on his heel, and quickly walked away. By the time Jessica managed to slide past the table and rush out into the cool night air, he had already disappeared into the crowded parking lot. He was completely gone.

Standing beneath the neon glow of the restaurant sign, the first sob broke through her chest. It was a heavy, suffocating wave of heartbreak. She felt small. She felt discarded.

But as the tears spilled down her face, something shifted inside her. The trembling in her hands stopped. The cold despair in her chest began to burn, turning into something hot, sharp, and terrifying.

The sobs choked back, instantly hardening into pure, unadulterated anger.

She stared into the empty crowd, her eyes narrowing. She couldn’t believe it. Rejected. Brushed aside by the one man she truly believed was meant for her. He thought he could just discard her like background noise and move on with his life.

Jessica wiped the tears from her face with the back of her hand, her expression turning into a mask of clinical, frozen rage.

He wanted to make her feel invisible. Fine. She would become a ghost. But when she finally stepped out of the shadows, she was going to make sure his entire world came crashing down around him.
