Chapter 1 - A Chance to Dream

“When will my life finally change?”

It was the question she had asked herself countless times.

She was just an ordinary girl born into an ordinary family, carrying extraordinary dreams. Every morning she woke up believing that if she worked hard enough, someday life would reward her efforts.

She didn’t dream of luxury.

She only dreamed of a life where her family no longer had to worry about tomorrow.

So she worked.

Not one job.

Not two.

But three.

In the morning, she served customers with a warm smile as a waitress in a small café.

At night, she rode her motorcycle through the busy streets, delivering food to strangers who would never know how exhausted she really was.

And after midnight, when the city became quieter, she stood under the dim lights of a small bar, singing songs for people who barely listened.

None of them were permanent jobs.

She was still searching for the one opportunity that could finally change her future.

The cool evening breeze brushed against her face as she rode through the city with a delivery bag strapped securely behind her.

She glanced at the food order on her phone before smiling to herself.

“Just a little longer,” she whispered.

“For my future... I’ll find a real job someday.”

Her motorcycle sped through the intersection.

Then—

HONK!

A black luxury sedan suddenly appeared from the crossing.

Everything happened in seconds.

BANG!

The motorcycle lost balance.

She fell onto the pavement, sliding a short distance before coming to a stop.

The impact wasn’t serious, but it was enough to leave scratches on her arm and knee.

Inside the car...

A young man wearing an expensive black suit lowered the phone from his ear.

“What happened?” he asked calmly.

His driver looked through the windshield.

“Sir... I think we hit someone.”

“I’ll check.”

The driver quickly stepped out of the car and hurried toward the fallen woman.

“Miss!”

He knelt beside her.

“Are you alright? I’m so sorry. We didn’t see you.”

Before she could answer...

The rear door opened.

A tall man stepped out of the luxury sedan.

His polished leather shoes touched the pavement.

His tailored black suit fit him perfectly.

Sharp features.

Fair skin.

Dark eyes.

The kind of face that looked like it belonged on a magazine cover rather than in real life.

For a brief moment...

She forgot the pain.

She simply stared.

He looked impossibly handsome.

The man walked toward her with genuine concern in his eyes.

“Are you okay, Miss?”

His deep voice pulled her back to reality.

She nodded awkwardly.

“I... I’m fine.”

The man sighed in relief before taking out his wallet.

“I’m truly sorry for what happened.”

He handed her several bills.

“I wish I could stay longer, but I have an important meeting with investors.”

“I hope this covers the damages.”

She hesitated.

“I-I...”

But before she could finish her sentence, he gave her a small apologetic smile.

“I’m sorry.”

He turned around and returned to the car.

Moments later...

The black sedan disappeared into the traffic.

She remained standing in the middle of the road.

She slowly picked up her motorcycle.

Collected the scattered food containers.

Then quietly watched the luxury car disappear into the distance.

“...Who was he?”

On her way home...

Her phone suddenly vibrated.

Ding!

She pulled over and checked the notification.

It was an email.

Her heart skipped a beat.

Subject: Interview Invitation

She quickly opened it.

Her eyes widened.

Vorx Corporation

Position:

Executive Secretary to the CEO

For several seconds...

She simply stared at the screen.

Then tears slowly filled her eyes.

“I... I finally got an interview.”

A bright smile spread across her face.

She looked up at the evening sky.

“Thank You, Lord...”

“I won’t waste this chance.”

“I’ll do my best.”

She laughed to herself before continuing the ride home with a heart lighter than it had been in years.

A few minutes later...

She arrived at their small house.

The moment she opened the gate, her younger brother ran toward her.

“Big Sis!”

He wrapped his arms around her tightly.

She smiled and hugged him back.

Inside the house...

Her mother sat quietly on the old sofa, sewing clothes under the warm yellow light.

“Mom!”

“I have an interview on Monday.”

Her mother immediately looked up.

“Really?”

“What company?”

“Vorx Corporation.”

Her mother’s eyes widened.

“The Vorx Corporation?”

“The biggest IT company in the country?”

She nodded excitedly.

“I’m applying as the CEO’s secretary.”

Her mother smiled proudly.

“I hope you get accepted.”

She laughed softly.

“Me too.”

After a short silence, her mother suddenly asked,

“Do you have something nice to wear?”

She scratched her head sheepishly.

“Not yet.”

“But I’ve saved enough money from my part-time jobs.”

“I’ll buy interview clothes tomorrow.”

“Has Dad come home yet?”

Her mother’s smile slowly faded.

“Not yet.”

She simply nodded.

“I’ll take a shower first.”

Standing in front of the bathroom mirror...

She gently cleaned the small wound on her knee.

It stung.

But somehow...

It didn’t hurt as much anymore.

She looked at her own reflection.

Then smiled.

“I’ll get this job.”

“I know I will.”

Suddenly...

The face of the man from the accident appeared in her mind.

His calm voice.

His gentle eyes.

His sincere apology.

She blinked before shaking her head.

“What are you doing?”

“Why are you thinking about him?”

She laughed at herself.

“I should focus on my interview.”

After taking a warm shower, she lay down on her bed.

She stared quietly at the ceiling.

Unable to stop thinking about Monday.

After a while...

She picked up her phone and searched for Vorx Corporation.

The moment the company’s website appeared...

Her eyes grew wide.

“Wow...”

“It’s... enormous.”

She swallowed nervously.

“Will someone like me... really have a chance there?”

The room fell silent.

Exhaustion finally overcame her.

She gently turned off the lamp.

Darkness filled the room.

Outside, the city continued to move as if nothing had changed.

But somewhere beyond the bright skyline...

Fate was already setting two completely different worlds on a path that would soon collide.

Unaware of what tomorrow would bring...

She closed her eyes and peacefully fell asleep, carrying nothing but hope in her heart.
