Chapter 1

[Author’s note: to my delight I discovered my partner’s teenage nephew likes Mahito as much as I do—well, I like Mahito for different reasons. Anyway, the nephew claimed Mahito could beat Gojo, and even I, a die-hard Mahito-glazing simp, was like “Nah.” My partner and I discussed it the next day and thought Mahito might be a match for Gojo in one particular game. And that is how this one shot was born.

Enjoy. 6/9/26 - 6/11/26]

Satoru Gojo was exhausted...but he wasn’t done.

There was one more nuisance to destroy in Shibuya.

The special grade curse Mahito, the source of suffering, the monster who tortured, transformed, and killed dozens upon dozens of souls like it meant nothing, still walked around freely.

To Gojo, that was unacceptable.

Mahito himself, meanwhile, wanted to kick Gojo’s ass for no other reason than a good challenge turned him on. As long as he got to fight, he didn’t really care whether Geto went through with his plan or not.

Most of the humans were still in a state of paralysis when Mahito blinked his eyes awake.

“Hmm, interesting use of his domain for 0.2 seconds,” he said to himself. “I might have to try that later.”

“YOU!” a ragged voice echoed across the train station. Mahito batted his long eyelashes and twirled around.

“Yeeessss?” he sang, throwing his arms out in malevolent ecstasy. “I see you made short work of my masterpieces. Oh well, there are plenty more humans to kill.”

Gojo stomped toward the smirking curse, fury in his eyes.

“You evil, soulless—” he began when Mahito interrupted him.

“Oh hell no, you did not just call me soulless. I know more about the soul than any of your human religions combined,” Mahito snapped. Off to the side, Geto covered his face with his hand.

“Oh no, here he goes with the soul stuff again,” he groaned. Jogo rolled his giant glowing eye, and Choso looked thoroughly bored and unimpressed.

“Could’ve fooled me,” Gojo said, stepping closer to Mahito. “All I see is a punk-ass bitch who’s about to get killed.”

Mahito licked his lips and giggled.

“Don’t tempt me with a good time, darlin’,” he drawled. Now Gojo and Mahito were nearly nose to nose.

Mahito grinned and threw a punch straight toward Gojo’s face. Gojo stood perfectly still as Mahito’s fist stopped short an inch from his nose.

Mahito barely had time to comprehend what had just happened when Gojo’s brutal side kick sent him flying. He slammed into the side of the train and crumpled to the ground.

Laughing like a child at play, Mahito brushed himself off and sauntered back to Gojo.

“That love tap barely did anything, cowboy,” he said, sweeping his hair behind his shoulder with an elegant flick of his wrist.

“About time you fought a real man instead of creeping on a high schooler,” Gojo snarled, puffing his chest out. Mahito gasped in mock horror.

“Hey, I’m only interested in fighting Itadori. Don’t project your own creepiness for your students onto me. That blonde broad-shouldered salaryman with the glasses, on the other hand...” Mahito trailed off with a wicked smile. Gojo scoffed.

“Please. You’re not his type,” he said. Mahito laughed and put his hands on his hips.

“I can be anybody’s type.”

“He can,” Choso muttered, shaking his head. Mahito licked his lips again and gave a little shuddering squeal.

“Ooh, what can Big Blonde Daddy do with that necktie?” he said with a shiver, clearly enjoying taunting Gojo.

“Save it, pretty boy,” Gojo replied curtly. “You’d better run along with your little Girl Scout troop. You’ll never be able to land a hit on me because of my infinity!”

“You pompous ass,” Mahito snarked. “You’ll never be able to kill me because you can’t touch my soul the way Itadori can!”

“Girl, I’d be worrying more about those split ends than Itadori!” Gojo said, flicking Mahito’s hair.

Mahito’s nostrils flared, and he snapped his fingers in Gojo’s face.

“Bitch, your skin tone is so blotchy I’m surprised they don’t call you Patchface!”

Gojo crossed his arms and tilted his head.

“So we find ourselves at an impasse,” he said coolly. Mahito rolled his eyes and turned toward Geto.

“Geto, can you please do your sealing or whatever? This is boring me,” he whined.

“That’s the first intelligent thing Mahito has said all day,” Jogo grumbled. Geto waved Jogo away and crossed his arms, thinking.

“Nah, let him cook...I want to see where this goes,” he said, his gaze locked on Gojo and Mahito.

“Alright, curse, there’s only one way to solve this,” Gojo said, squaring off against Mahito. Mahito faced him with the same strong stance.

“Oh yeah, mister know-it-all human? How?”

“A battle to the ultimate defeat in...GAY CHICKEN!”

“Fine,” Mahito said. “If you win, you get to walk away from here free and clear, and so do we. But if I win, it’s into the prison realm for you!”

“Sounds fine by me,” Gojo said calmly.

“Great, the biggest curse ho is up against the biggest human ho. Yawn. This is ridiculous. I’m going to go smoke,” Choso mumbled and ambled away.

“I’ll join you,” Jogo said, following him. “I can’t stand either of these young punks.”

Geto, still entranced by the scene unfolding before him, sniffed and looked down.

“Dagon, where did you get popcorn?” he asked. Dagon squeaked, shrugged, and offered the bucket. Geto grabbed a handful of popcorn and turned back to the arguing pair.

“I’m the hottest one here!” Mahito shouted. “I’m the freak in the streets!”

“No, I’m the hottest one here!” Gojo countered. “I’m the freak in the sheets!”

“Oh yeah?”

“Yeah!”

“DOMAIN EXPANSION—” they both screamed at the same time.

Everything went black.

For the second time that day, Mahito blinked himself into consciousness. He looked down to make sure his body was still intact and then took in his surroundings: whimsical fairy lights draped from trees, soft lanterns glowing, flower petals on the ground...

“Wait a minute,” he said. “I know this...this is the wedding scene from Twilight. No, Robert Pattinson, my one weakness!”

Gojo was waiting in the center of the aisle with a flower between his teeth. He knelt down in front of Mahito and offered his hand.

“May I have this dance?” he asked, removing the flower and tucking it behind his ear.

Mahito sneered.

“I don’t dance.”

“Giving up so easily? Well, I guess—”

“Fine,” Mahito said and took Gojo’s hand. Gojo stood and yanked him flush to his body as he stepped expertly into a waltz.

“I hate dancing,” Mahito grumbled but didn’t struggle and tried to follow as best he could.

“Ready to give up now?” Gojo asked, stretching them both out by their arms and spinning Mahito back to his chest.

“No. Are you?”

“Not even close,” Gojo answered, dipping Mahito low, “but you really are a crummy dancer.”

With that, he let go, and Mahito dropped to the ground with a clumsy thud.

“Hey!”

Gojo offered a hand and helped Mahito up. Neither let go of the other’s hand.

“This doesn’t feel so bad, even for a human,” Mahito sniffed, swinging Gojo’s hand. Gojo smirked and squeezed Mahito’s hand as he led them on a stroll through the moonlit grounds.

“So this is your domain? It’s definitely not mine,” Mahito said. Gojo shook his head.

“Maybe this is what happened when our domains collided,” he pondered. Then he stopped and stroked Mahito’s face.

“How else can we collide?” he asked in a sultry voice. Mahito glared, grabbed Gojo’s hand, and kissed it.

“Bring it, human.”

Gojo wrapped his arms around Mahito in a warm embrace. Mahito rested his cheek on Gojo’s shoulder and sighed.

“Ready to tap out?” Gojo asked. Mahito shook his head and ran his hands up Gojo’s back. He stood on his toes and kissed Gojo on the cheek.

“Hardly. Are you?” he answered. Gojo responded by kissing Mahito softly on the neck.

“Does it feel like I’m tapping out?” he asked. Mahito wrapped his arms around Gojo’s neck and kissed his lips.

“Top that, mister,” he whispered. He gasped when Gojo pushed him against a tree and kissed him back fiercely.

“Too much for you?” Gojo rasped, cupping Mahito’s neck with one hand and his back with the other.

“Never,” Mahito answered, wrapping his leg around Gojo’s waist. “But I bet I can get you to stop when I change into this!”

Mahito’s skin rippled. He grew two inches taller as he morphed into Geto...or at least a Mahito/Geto hybrid. Gojo threw back his head and laughed.

“Girl, you don’t know my history with Geto, do you? You are exactly what the doctor ordered!” he said and started to reach for Mahito’s face.

Mahito panicked. He was going to lose this game.

“Oh yeah, I bet you won’t want to kiss me when I look like this!” he shouted, morphing again into his terrifying final form, Instant Spirit Body of Distorted Killing. His body stretched and swelled into a huge, muscular beast with long claws and a whip-like tail.

Gojo yawned, ran his hand along Mahito’s tail and squeezed his ass.

“Oh come on, that’s nothing. You should have seen when I got drunk and hooked up with Mahoraga. Megumi was furious!” he laughed. Mahito morphed back into his human form and pouted.

“Does nothing stop you?” he asked. Gojo shrugged. Then Mahito was struck with a brilliant idea.

“I hope you like prison food, because you won’t be able to keep going when I look like this!” Mahito said, grinning. He closed his eyes and began to ripple his soul and body again.

Gojo gasped and then gagged. He jumped back and held his hands up defensively.

“Oh God, no, you’re hideous!” he shouted. Mahito laughed and ran his hands down his long skirt.

“What?” he asked sweetly, twirling his fingers in his long, now brown hair and tracing the scar across the bridge of his nose. “I thought Utahime was your old high school flame.” He jutted his hip out and strolled closer to Gojo.

“Can’t handle it, lover boy?” Mahito/Utahime asked, trailing a finger up Gojo’s shuddering chest. Gojo gritted his teeth and gripped Mahito by the shoulders.

“My revulsion for Utahime is big, but my ego is bigger,” he growled, crushing his lips against Mahito’s in a desperate kiss. Mahito jumped with surprise and looked down.

“Something else is bigger too.”

Geto, Dagon, and dozens of humans stared in wonder. (And many had their phones out recording).

Gojo and Mahito’s shared domain had formed the shape of a large, pink, metallic heart, which was now rocking back and forth with a hollow knocking sound. “Oh, Gojo!” Mahito’s muffled voice cried from inside the domain. “Now I know why they call you the most powerful sorcerer!”

“It kind of looks like a Jeff Koons piece,” Geto observed and threw up his hands. “Okay, that’s it. I’m done. Want to go get pizza?”

Dagon squeaked in agreement.

Ten years later...

After curse-human marriage was legalized in New Hampshire, Gojo and Mahito made their home there and opened a bed & breakfast on the short but spectacular shoreline.

Their large Victorian home was stuffed with cozy furniture and Gojo’s seascape oil paintings. They served locally sourced food to their guests and wine from their vineyard, Infinite Vines. Mahito couldn’t drink the wine, but he had an extraordinary sense of smell and enjoyed telling guests about what they would experience with their varietals.

Geto had a change of heart after seeing true love blossom in Shibuya. He became a Buddhist monk and occasionally led meditation retreats on the property. In the evenings during his visits, he’d laugh with Mahito and Gojo over dinner and share stories as old friends.

On this particular night, though, October 31st, Mahito and Gojo were alone in the big house, other than their happily overfed golden retriever, Checkers, who dozed by the crackling fire.

“Can you believe it’s been ten years since we got together?” Gojo asked, draping his arm around Mahito’s shoulders and taking a sip of his wine with his free hand. Mahito leaned into him.

“All my life I thought it was my purpose to kill curses,” Gojo continued. “But that led me to the most beautiful curse I’ve ever seen.” Like he did a decade ago, Mahito sighed and rested his cheek on Gojo’s shoulder. “And you showed me that I do have a heart beyond my soul. A heart that could be loved,” he replied. Gojo turned and kissed him.

“Mmmm,” said Mahito, licking his lips. “That new Chardonnay is nice and oaky.”

They kissed again, this time more deeply.

“Do you want me to change into Utahime again tonight?” Mahito asked in a lowered voice. Gojo shook his head.

“No. I want you and only you, my love.”

They snuggled against each other and watched the dancing flames in the fireplace.

And the prettiest curse and the prettiest human lived happily ever after.

The End.

This was hilarious and corny! Loved it more than I expected! I'm glad Mahito didn't turn into Uraume (the ice queen deserves better) but good job writing this rather odd pairing! 9/10
