Project Utopia
September 28th, Galactic year 13,908.
Earth, Blue Star Union’s underground lab.
Inside one of the experiment rooms, a woman, dressed in a simple white hospital gown, was lying unconscious on the operating table.
Despite her weak condition, her limbs were locked with devices made of special material, only available for military use. Even her head and neck were also locked up.
In the entire room, only the sound of the machine beeping continuously could be heard.
At this moment, several tubes were connected to her blood vessels as her blood was drawn from her body. With every drop of her blood being taken away, her body temperature dropped further.
As her consciousness slowly faded, the woman was still able to vaguely hear the conversation coming from outside the room.
“Miss Mo, you are here.”
“How is the condition of Subject Zero? Was the amount of blood enough for the next step of the experiment?”
“Miss Mo, the amount of blood we currently have is around 22 liters. We only need 3 liters more to ensure that the success rate of the next step is above 95%.”
“Good.” After a moment of pause, the one called Miss Mo asked, “After this step, do we still need her?”
The scientist shook his head and replied, “As long as the blood is enough, there is no need to repeat the experiment.”
“Since she is no longer useful, then there is no need to keep her. Collect the very last drop of her blood. As for her body, just feed it to the chimera,” she said coldly.
Hearing the familiar voice, the woman lying on the operating table tried to open her eyes. But despite all of her effort, besides a small movement of her eyelids, there was nothing she could do.
Without even seeing her face, she knew the identity of that person. She was her distant cousin.
Both of their ancestors were a pair of twin sisters who, according to the historical record, saved the entire blue planet more than 10,000 years ago.
But after generations, the relationship between the Jin family and the Mo family had deteriorated until they finally reached the stage where they had become mortal enemies.
As her blood was almost dried out, and her body suffered a shock. Her consciousness slowly faded, but the pain was as clear as a summer day.
While she was dying, the woman standing outside the door watched her with schadenfreude.
With the machine beeping urgently, she muttered softly, “Jin Yuexi, so what if you are the one in millions who is able to reach 89% of your bloodline awakening? In the end, don’t you still fall into my hands?”
Clenching her fists, hate, jealousy, and madness flashed in her eyes. “After I re-awaken my bloodline, that will be the time for the last trace of your Jin family to be destroyed!”
As if hearing her words, Jin Yuexi’s forefinger twitched as she thought, ‘Mo Ailing, even as a ghost, I will make you pay for everything that you did!’
The next moment, she finally fell into the darkness.
As soon as the machine let out a long, flat sound, the scientists turned to Mo Ailing. Seeing her smile, they felt a chill run down their spines.
Now that the person she hated most had finally died, she lost interest in staying here any longer.
“Remember, feed her body to the chimera,” she said as she walked away.
“Understood,” the scientists replied in unison.
At the same time, one of the countless floating objects located far from the Blue Planet Union suddenly lit up, and a streak of light shot out from the ancient satellite.
During the short period of Mo Ailing and the scientist’s conversation, the light entered Jin Yuexi’s body through the cables connecting the machines to her body.
“Initiating the soul bond. Soul bond in 3…2…1…”
“Soul bond is completed. Reactivating Project Utopia.”
As the light entered Jin Yuexi’s brain and condensed, a small transparent crystal the size of a grain of rice was formed.
“Project Utopia is activated.”
“Detecting the Host’s life force is depleting rapidly. Activating the emergency protocol in 3…2…1…”
“Emergency protocol is activated.”
A second later, the ground suddenly shook, and a space gate appeared beside the operating table.
Due to the appearance of the space gate, the entire laboratory, including the area within a 5,000-kilometer radius, was hit by a massive earthquake.
“Space gate is activated. Starting the emergency evacuation protocol in 3…2…1…”
The moment the countdown hit zero, a bright light enveloped Jin Yuexi’s body and shot toward the space gate in less than a second.
As her body disappeared into the void, the earthquake continued and lasted for almost an hour. When everything finally calmed down, the entire laboratory was buried underground, leaving nothing but ruins behind.
