The Pill Called Forgiveness

All I want is a heart that forgives

That can love everybody, even my enemies, without thinking twice

But how can a heart forgive when all your mind tells you is to grieve

Have we forgotten he killed my brother and raped and destroyed my neighbours

All I want is a heart that forgives

That can love everybody, even my enemies, without thinking twice

But hope can a heart forgive when you never asked for abandonment and daddy issues

Am I supposed to listen to some pastor and suddenly miss you

Or have we forgotten that i was sold for a price

Don’t even continue and say that the same happened to Christ

All I want is a heart that forgives

That can love everybody, even my enemies, without thinking twice

But how can a heart forgive when my own church can't look past my mistakes

No, don't say anything

Cause now I understand why the young people escape

You see, to me, trying to forgive is like passing through a chill, dark hole filled with ice

Trying to show the true message of what is really in my soul

Is asking for a heart that forgives too much to ask?

Maybe all I need is the help of Jesus Christ to rid me of my troubled past.
