Hello!

My name’s Dora!

And I was exiting my abode on Halloween while dressed up as LN when suddenly! I saw that there was a box that seemed to have been delivered to my abode.

“Hmmm…” I thought, “I didn’t order anything recently, and so I wonder why this package is here…” and then stepped towards  the box and then looked at it more closely, and then I saw that the ‘From’ spot on the package didn’t say anything but the ‘To’ section on the box said ‘Pandora’…

“Pandora, eh?…” I said to myself, “But I don’t know anybody who’s named Pandora, and so what do I do?…” and then I thought for a bit, and then I decided to take the box over to the post office so that I could ask whoever was there what to do…

And so then I went over to the post office; and then once I was able to talk with someone who worked there I said, “Hello!…

I received this box at my abode today, and it must’ve been delivered to the wrong place because I don’t know anybody named Pandora…” and then the person who I had spoken to said, “Cool costume!…

LN’s awesome!…” and then I said, “Thanks!

And I like your costume too!

The Ghost of Ballot Past is awesome!…” and then he grinned and said, “Thanks!

And I don’t know what to tell you about that box, though it’s strange that your name is Dora and my name is Pan and so that means that if our names are put together then our names make Pandora!…

But that doesn’t mean that the box is supposed to be ours, of course, because that’s not how names work, lol…

But do you maybe think that someone delivered the box to your abode as a Halloween prank?…” and then I said, “Perhaps…

Though it would be an odd prank to pull…

And that’s fun that our names combine to form Pandora, for sure!, lol.

And so what should I do with the box?…” and then Pan said, “Hmmm…

Well, it’s bad stuff to open up mail that’s supposed to go to other people, and so I’d definitely recommend not opening the box…

Though if it did get delivered to your abode as a Halloween prank then that might change the calculation of whether it would be bad for you to open it or not…

And so you don’t happen to have a security camera at your abode, do you?…

Because, like, if you do have a security camera at your abode and you were to check the security footage that it captured of the box arriving to your abode then that might help you determine whether it was delivered as actual mail for someone named Pandora or whether it was delivered as a Halloween prank.” and then I said, “Good thinking!

And I actually do have a security camera at my abode, and so I’m going to go ahead and go home and check the security footage so that I can discover whether the security footage might reveal whether this box was delivered to my abode as a Halloween prank or not!…” and then Pan said, “Awesome!…

I know that if I see you around again I’ll definitely be asking what the security camera footage revealed about the box!…” and then I chuckled and said, “Cool beans!…

And so I’ll see you later then!…” and then the 2 of us said quick farewells to each other, and then I hurried home to check the security footage of the box being delivered to my abode!; and so then I had soon checked the security footage, and what it had revealed was that a robot who had a net and a gun had delivered the box to my abode; and this surprised me at first, but then I remembered that it was Halloween after all, and so maybe the person who had delivered the package had actually been a robot but maybe the person had simply been dressed up as a robot for Halloween…

And this also didn’t really seem to necessarily solve the mystery of whether the box had been delivered as a Halloween prank or not, and so I still didn’t know if it would be bad for me to open the box…

But then when my eyes wandered back over to the box I noticed that the name on the box wasn’t Pandora anymore!…

It was Pan!…

“What the?…” I said in a confused tone of voice; and then I quickly pulled my smartphone out of my pocket and took a picture of the box before the writing that was on it could change  again; and then I decided that since it seemed that this box was now for Pan that that meant that I should head back over to the post office to deliver it to Pan; and so then I went to the post office to deliver the box to Pan; but by the time that I had reached him the name on the box said Pandora again!…

And so then I said, “Hey, Pan!…

I reviewed the security footage, and it didn’t really reveal anything definitive about whether the box was delivered as a Halloween prank or not, but check this out!…” and then I took my smartphone out of my pocket and was then soon showing Pan the picture that I’d taken of when the box had said ‘Pan’ on it; and then Pan frowned and said, “Interesting…

Though I can’t open it now since it says Pandora on it again now…

Though if it goes back to saying Pan then I can open it!…” and then I said, “But why would the name on the box be changing like it did?…” and then Pan said, “Hmmm…

That’s a good question…

Though now that I’m thinking about it more I’ll note that because the names that are written on legitimate mailed packages aren’t supposed to mysteriously change back and forth like that that means that I’m thinking that that means that it’s probably fine for you to open the box if you want to!…

Because, I mean, you have proof that the name that’s on the box has been mysteriously changing back and forth in the way that its been doing, and so that means that you have proof that this isn’t a legitimate mailed package, ya know?…” and then I said, “Interesting…

And so can you (as a post office professional) write down on a piece of paper that it’s fine for me to open the box, just so that if I do decide to open it then I’ll have proof that a post office professional said that it was alright for me to open the box?…” and then Pan said, “Sure thing!…” and then he was soon writing down on a piece of paper that it was fine for me to open the box because it was clearly not a legitimate mailed package; and then before long he was handing me the piece of paper that he had written on; and then I said, “Thanks!…” and then I folded up the piece of paper and put it into my pocket; and then I said, “Well, I suppose that it’s back to home for me then!…

And so thanks for all of your assistance, and I’ll see you around!…” and then Pan said, “Sounds good!…

Oh, and if you end up deciding to open the package and you also end up deciding that you’d prefer to have someone with you when you open the package then I’d be perfectly happy to be there when the package gets opened!…” and then I said, “Thanks for the offer!…

Which probably means that I should get your phone number from you?…” and then Pan said, “That makes sense, for sure!…” and then he gave me his phone number, and then I said, “Awesome!…

And so now if I end up deciding to open the box then I might just message you in order to invite you to be present when the box gets opened!…” and then Pan said, “Very good!…

And so I guess I’ll see ya later then!…” and then I said, “Yup!…

See ya later, for sure!…” and then I headed home, and then I placed the box onto a table inside my abode, and then I began considering the question of whether I should open the box and whether I should invite Pan to be present for the opening of the box if I were to end up deciding to open it…

Merrell Bunting: Well written, kind of quiet story, I enjoyed it. I am still a bit perplexed over whether this was a second chance mating story with choosing or completely a chosen mate story. If it is a chosen mate tale it leaves one a bit worried about a fated mate showing up. Either way it was a nice read.
