Fun and Exciting
"With suspense on three levels and superb characterization that is natural and realistic, The Triple Date pulls its readers in immediately, dropping humor in at regular intervals. Georgia is a finely drawn character who is the heart of the story, while the reader appreciates Chess’s deliberations as an executive and with his father and Cora’s struggles as a new employee. This was comical and lighthearted, and took its readers for a romantic, entertaining journey. Another wonderfully written McLaughlin tale – read it from beginning to end! --Brittanny Davis"
Awesome! Insanely amazing!
"I loved it! I am wordless to even describe but one thing was for sure I enjoyed it a lot! I loved it! I think it has everything one can expect from its genre! I loved it and worth a chance to read by the whole world!"
Well-written story
"Triple Date is a well-written and fun story. It’s predictable in that you know where the relationships are heading. It’s unpredictable in that you don’t quite know how the couples will get there. It was fun to watch the unfolding of this seemingly complicated situation. I love how the author deals with the idea of letting go. Both Cora and Chess learn to let go of both their children and their parents. Only when they do that can they jump into life themselves. The author gives an accurate depiction of the feelings parents go through when they “think” they know what’s best for their kids only to find out that their kids need to figure that out themselves."
I read it in one hour
"It started off a tad slow but once it got going it got GOOD! Loved the plot; characters were well fleshed out but not too overdone; loved this author's writing style. "
Very enjoyable
"The title prepares the reader for the encounters and love stories of three generations, but the plot has unexpected twists and turns, and keeps the reader captivated, waiting for the next event. Characters are developed very well and thoroughly. The supporting characters are very entertaining and give depths to the MC. The character of Chess, beyond the smart, cold executive, is endearing and we feel his anguish for his son and devotion to his dad. Very entertaining read and excellently written."
So real to life
"What a fun story! And very well written. The characters are all very believable. Chess and Cora are thrown together in a competitive work situation. As two companies merge they both strive to get the CMO position. Chase lives with his dad, Willard and his teenage son, Robby. Cora lives with her mom, Georgia and her teenage daughter, Emma. Fate brings the two families together as a triple date. Need I say more? I highly recommend this exciting read."
A hidden diamond
"The first couple of chapters are almost as if written by a different person until the writer finds his writing style. Then the plot took of to travel me to a world of coporate managing and success in a comedy that reminds me a lot of much ado about nothing. It is refreshing to finally see a writer that rereads his work, self corrects it, and improves on it. Well done. "
Too Good For Inkitt
"What are you doing here? Go get famous! Your writing style is too intricate, too advanced to be here on Inkitt, and your plot structure is that of a professional novel. Keep up the good work!"
Expertly Crafted - Classic Rom Com
"The Triple Date is a classic romantic comedy with a clever multi-dimensional concept featuring three different intertwined love stories. The setting is fresh and unique. The comedy is light and subtle, but present in just the right doses to illicit a smile or a chuckle at all the right points in the story. Of note, the character of Georgia is a hoot, and the constant barrage of lighthearted jabs at the garden state of New Jersey are particularly well done. The writing style is nearly flawless with fully drawn likeable characters who seem real with their flaws, their raw emotions, their tragic backstories, their hopes, dreams and challenges. The antagonistic relationship between the ultimate romantic leads is done as well as any feature Rom Com film and the overall story has a maturity and depth to it that makes it clearly ready to be published. To be honest, if it could be recast as a screenplay, I could see it in theaters tomorrow. The Triple Date is truly enjoyable, entertaining and funny rollercoaster ride through the ups and downs of these rival Marketing Director's lives."
Awesome
"I love the plot I love how there's comedy and your writing style is amazing."
Comical story with a very humorous ending!
"I loved this story so much. It wasn't my usual kind of story, but I enjoyed it immensely. Filled with witty characters and comical one liners that kept me laughing throughout. I love the dynamic between Chess and Cora, and how their respective back stories affect them. I also liked the character of Emma very much. The story has really great potential, and with a touch of editing, it'd be perfect. I found the ending chapter extremely satisfying, particularly the final scene, and its closing dialogue. It really brought the story full circle in its hilarity and delivers the reader with an equally as great, if not, better impression of the story as a whole. Thanks for such a great read, I look forward to reading more of your work very soon :)"
Quite Intriguing
"Though it’s not something I’d normally read, I find Triple Date quite intriguing. The contradictions between Chess and Cora are clear from the beginning and are rather entertaining."
A comedic venture into one company's merger with another
"An interesting exploration into the corporate world of strategic thinking and marketing. I enjoyed the conflict between the two key marketing people as they play the game of one-upmanship and get involved in romance. Their rebellious offspring adds bite. An enjoyable read."
