Maya, to put it quite honestly, is just another fancy police weapon in just another anti-terrorist squad.

And then she meets him. Calls himself Card Shark, because it's not a gamble if you cheat, and when you're cheating the entire system, who better to ally yourself with than Maya? She’s an inside source and there's nothing that can keep her and her power out. He's got the outfit, the name, and he certainly strikes something into her heart, even if it's not always fear.
