The Sufferer
“You Stupid Mutant!” the jade blood screamed at the skinny "black" blooded girl, bleeding from her nose, mouth and various wounds scattered on her. “!’M TRY!NG MY HARDEST!” she yelled back, her four horns nearly impaling him in the chin. he punched her, dislocating her jaw, she whimpered. “I’ll Teach You To Talk Back To Your Master!” the jade blood grabbed her by her ragged shirt and dragged her outside into the brisk air. he threw her down into the dirt, a low hiss escaping her throat. the jade blood grinned his teeth and started kicking her, making her cough up blood. “That’s What You Get Mutant!” just before she was about to lose consciousness a cloaked figure stepped in between her and her master. her right red eye glimmering in the light. “ENOUGH SIR! HOW DARE YOU TREAT THIS GIRL SO POORLY!” the stranger and her master argued for a while as she drifted in and out of consciousness. the stranger knelt beside her and smiled, saying “IT’S ALRIGHT, YOU ARE SAFE NOW.” she smiled and drifted into sleep.
The "black" blooded troll opened her eyes to a grey scale room that is nicely furnished. she sat upright, she looked over herself, bandages covering her wounds. she lifted her hand and brushed by her right eye, it stung slightly. that was good, that meant she didn’t use her power as she slept. the door opened to reveal the hooded man who saved her and a female jade blood who stood protectively behind the hooded troll. ” AHH YOU HAVE AWOKEN! GOOD! WE WERE GETTING WORRIED!” the hooded troll smiled, his short curved horns poking out the top of the hood. he chuckled and pulled the hood off his head, his black hair falling evenly and wild. the girl smiled nervously and looked cautiously over at the jade blood. “OH DON’T WORRY ABOUT MY MOTHER! SHE IS THE ONE WHO WRAPPED YOUR WOUNDS ANS TENDED TO YOU.” the jade blood smiled kindly, putting a hand on her... son’s?... shoulder. “My Dear, May We Ask Your Name?” she asked, her voice soothing. the girl hesitated, rubbing her jaw, wincing in pain. “!’M... !’M THE ASSASS!N... !... DoN’T REMEMBER MY oLD NAME... MY APoLoG!ES...” The Assassin stood shaking and bowed, apologizing in the silence. the man put a hand on her head, he was a foot taller than her but he knelt down just to look her in the eye. “DO NOT APOLOGIZE FOR SOMETHING YOU HAD NO CONTROL OVER. WE ARE JUST GLAD YOU ARE ALIVE AND SAFE.” The Assassin stood upright, the man standing beside her. she hesitated to speak, but tried to anyway. “WHAT... !S YoUR NAME?” she asked, looking at both trolls. the man chuckled and rubbed the back of his head. “WELL, I’M SIGNLESS, AND THAT OVER THERE IS MY MOTHER DOLOROSA.” the mother waved from the door, watching Assassin carefully. “So Dear Child, Why Do They Call You The Assassin?” Dolorosa asked, Signless also giving her a curious look. “! HAVE BEEN TRA!NED To K!LL W!THoUT BR!NG!NG ATTENT!oN To MYSELF... !T CoMES !N HANDY FoR CERTA!N C!TUAT!onS... BUT ! UNDERSTAND !F YoU ARE WARY ARoUND ME... MoST ARE...” Assassin looked at the floor, avoiding the potential glares from Signless and Dolorosa. “INTERESTING... I’M SORRY THAT YOU HAVE BEEN RAISED SO BRUTALLY ASSASSIN... BUT IF YOU WOULD LIKE, YOU CAN STAY HERE WITH US. YOU’D BE SAFE HERE AND WE WOULD NEVER JUDGE YOU FOR BEING BLACK BLOODED. FOR YOU SEE...” Signless took a small knife and cut his hand, red blood dripping from his palm. Assassin looked in awe at the strange color. “YES... I AM A MUTANT BLOOD AS WELL, SO DO NOT WORRY, WE WILL TREAT YOU AS AN EQUAL HERE.” Signless put an arm gently around Assassin’s shoulders, Dolorosa smiling happily but giving Assassin a wary look. “S!GNLESS...” Assassin looked at him and Dolorosa, smirking. “! WoULD L!KE To ACCoMPANY YoU AND SERVE AS YoUR GUARD, ! W!SH To REPAY THE DEBT ! oWE YoU!” and at that moment, The Assassin accompanied Signless and Dolorosa on their quest to liberate oppression on Alternia.
