"Vivienne knows how to take care of herself. Not one for heavy make-up and frilly dresses, she prefers isolation to friendships and sincerity to foolish smiles. Oddly, they seem more intent on making her bleed, then performing any kind of sexual assault. There are no such things as vampires, right? Then who are these men and why are they so intent on making her suffer. Worse of all, why does the one they call Levi, is so interested in impregnating her with a possible creature that will terrify beyond her most horrible nightmares? Whew! Quite a ride here. I never knew what to expect in each new chapter, and that made the story unexpectedly thrilling. Vivienne’s ultimate fate as a breeder is a clever parallel to the experience some Black women suffered during slavery including the selling of the father’s children. This was a surprising novel about horrors that go beyond a vampire’s bite."

"I personally don't really like fluffy romances with sex on sex on sex so I loved this story so far. I love how its dark and grity without being to much. Nothing feels forced, it all flows very well. I love the mixture of different themes as well. Overall a very good read!"
