Remnant is a mysterious young adult novel that follows primarily the experiences of a teenager by the name of Ethan. With the ups and downs of hormones and uncertainty, we navigate his struggles with memory loss in a new world where such an experience is common. But secrets have a way of getting out. Strange tattoos, "glitches," whispers, missing time, or memories that don't make sense. Some people know more than they let on, and some are just a bit too suspicious to trust. Who's the real enemy, here? How did they wind up here? What's real, what's not? The strongest bit of this story is the foundation, a great idea. There's passion and clear intent in the writing, and I truly look forward to the next version of this. I will note that Ethan's perspective is my favorite. I'm not sure how much we need the bits from anyone else's POV, even if it gives us more information. I'd like to see what would happen if we only got everything from Ethan, how that would change the way the book reads? Thanks for the story!"

"I love the mystery that hangs over the whole story, making the reader feel as though they are figuring everything out alongside the main character. I also enjoy how the inner thoughts are constructed for the main character, really putting you inside his head. The one thing I want you to caution doing is taking too much from other works. Many things seemed very similar to YA books such as The Maze Runner, and while it is great to have stories inspire you, I suggest you try to make it your own. Overall a very good start to what seems like a very thrilling story!"

A good mystery
"There's definitely mystery that makes a reader wonder what's going on and if any of the characters are involved in the strange happenings. We get a little bit of background with some of the characters, though not much. However, the book is not finished yet, so more has yet to be revealed. There were some spots where grammar could be improved on, and if seemed like there were some words used that were not necessarily reflecting what the author was trying to convey. Also, there were a lot of "Ums" used in the dialogue, and that was a bit distracting. Even though these are all teenagers, I think the dialogue could be played with a little. It's definitely a strong start, and it can only get better from here. -Author of Hollow's Charge "
