Love it!
"So far, so good! For a book in the beginning stages, The New Keeper is going great. With a fast paced and intriguing plot, I can’t wait to see where this story goes. "
Great start
"Even though you've only written the first two chapters of this book, I'm loving it. Its very descriptive, and paced fantastically. I can't wait to see where it goes! "
The New Keeper
"First of all, I'm sorry this review took a little while to get to you; I've been quite busy as of late. I'm really pleased to tell you that you have the beginnings of a really lovely story here. I really enjoyed your writing style in particular for both its simplicity, its detail and its creativity; it reminds me a bit of Lev Grossman's (if you're not familiar with him, he wrote a trilogy called The Magicians and he's a great writer - I'm reading the first book at the minute). It flows really well too. You also do a great job of writing your action scenes - the one from the first chapter I thought was particularly dynamic and exciting. I have a couple of suggestions for you to make this story even better. Firstly, in terms of the beginning, I reckon that starting with a character waking up in the morning is a bit overdone and because you've started the story in that place, it takes a little while to get going. You could try starting at a point closer to the big action scene to get the story off to a more dynamic start. Also, I like that you're touching on Alessandra's survivor's guilt, and it would properly enhance the story if you expanded on this and gave it more detail. I hope these suggestions are helpful! Keep writing and I look forward to hearing your thoughts on The Meaning of Live. :)"
Wonderful World Building
"This story is only just beginning, but it is amazing how much world building the author has been able to develop in just a few chapters. The writing style is truly beautiful, and makes the reader feel like they are there. The plot moves a little quickly, and might benefit from slowing just a bit, but there's clearly a very interesting story to tell here."
Intriguing.
"A very solid plot and steady build-up! There's already so many questions that need to be answered, I'm actually wondering how many more chapters you're going to need to answer them all?? Starting with the town attack? Why then? What happened to her own home? Where does she go? I think fantasies are quite difficult to write and requires a lot of organization and methodic responses to questions, but you obviously don't want to be too descriptive because then it gets overwhelming. But this wise woman archetype that shows up for Alessandra does remind me of Obiwan Kenobi revealing himself to Luke for the first time. Very interesting and nostalgic! You're doing great! -Mia xo"
