A Theft In Antique Shop
CHAPTER - 1
A THEFT IN THE ANTIQUE SHOP
It’s the case of 20 May, 2015. A great journey began of a writer named Kane Watson. He writes detective novels but seldom he also visits the crime scenes if there are any around him out of his curiosity . He had solved many cases of thefts , kidnapping and even a murder case too before the strange case appeared. On 20 May 2015 , it was writer's 21st birthday and the day was Sunday. He had received many calls from his relatives , friends and parents for birthday wishes. They decided to meet at Paradise Hotel for a great party.
To attend the party he had to finish off his busy schedule of Sunday morning hours which was to complete one chapter for his upcoming novel. As a famous detective novel writer , he wanted to create suspense in his books and in his readers too . But he was stuck at a point where he did not know how to get the protagonist out of a tough situation .
The serial killer was in front of him pointing a gun and the protagonist was bare handed. He decided to visit his friend’s café to seek some help. He picked up his laptop bag and took the car key from the key’s section. He went to the parking area of his house and got into one of his cars. He started the engine of the car and went out of his bungalow’s gate. 20 minutes later.....
His friend’s name is Dorian Frenz. His café is located in the Market Plaza of Pangea. In this Plaza , there are about 200 shops and stores varying from small ice cream parlors to big grocery stores and other miscellaneous shops such as the antique shop which was rumored to be as old as a sea turtle’s lifetime or the book store adjacent to The Kewe a chocolate company chain store. He reached the café and got out of his car.
He saw three girls with a purse that looked suspicious because it seemed like they were in a hurry to leave the place. One of the girl would be in her early twenties and the other two women seemed late twenties to mid thirties. They left the place in a hurry and stood in front of the taxi stand. But Kane ignored them and wore scarf to hid himself from the sight of the people in the café . Many people thought of him as a strange man since he was wearing a scarf during peak summers.
He didn’t even put his laptop at the chair before he sniffed a case brewing within the local vicinity . There was quite a ruckus in front of the old antique shop . The writer got distracted and rushed to the place. The shop owner was distressed as one of his most valuable antiques were stolen. It was an old Japanese silver ornament with gold imprinted designs by Sao Yamada from the era of early 13th century which worth more than $1,000,000. It was at a sojourn at the antique shop. Nobody except the owner knew about this artifact which was soon to be transported to the Pangea Museum.
The shop was old and traditional and the owner was very conservative of new technology. The shop had no surveillance facility but even after that in its course of operation , nobody has dared to rob that antique shop. After gathering some information and discussing with the police , the writer got himself into the case due to his superior reputation. The writer investigated the owner.
Kane - " Greetings Mr. Crimson , I know that you have just been robbed but would you mind if I ask you some questions about the incident ? I ensure you that you will get your artifact back if you co-operate with us."
Mr. Crimson -"Young man , ask me any questions you want , but I want my artefact back before 25th of May. There will be an exhibition happening on 29th of May in The Pangea Museum and the Japanese artifact is supposed to be the main attraction."
Kane -"We will try our best , so my first question is , who was the last person to leave your shop before you noticed the disappearance of the artifact ?"
Mr. Crimson -( He intently described the person that last left his shop ) " A middle aged man , with a very fragile physique who came for a window dressing."
Kane-"Did you find anything strange about that man?"
Mr. Crimson -" He was constantly looking at his watch and then looked at some of the artifacts. He left the store hurriedly after few minutes."
Kane -"Was he really the last person to leave the store? And if so can you help us to make a sketch of his face if you remember his face?"
Mr. Crimson -"I am sure young man that he was the last person to leave my shop. As for the sketch , I will help you with that. I just want that artifact back , young man."
He reassured Mr. Crimson and got the sketch made of the suspect. The writer then remembered about the three girls that he saw outside the café. The bag that they were carrying was big enough to hide the artifact. But based on that one fact he could not have suspected the three girls. But the real mystery to Kane was that how did robbery took place and how did robbers even know that the precious artifact was residing at the antique shop.
Kane decided to dwell deeper into the streets and the pedestrians . He called for a check on the CCTV footage of the streets and got the vehicle number of the taxi in which the girls left the Plaza.
He decided to trail the taxi's movements which was leading to the Silth Streets. These streets are infamously known for harboring various criminals within its core. Even the police didn't dare to enter those streets because of the horrific rumors surfacing frequently.
On the other hand , the suspected man was seen within those streets accompanied by a stout person.
Kane was troubled , in order to get the artifact back and to catch the culprit red handed he had to make a tough choice. He decided to cancel his birthday party at Paradise Hotel. His family was disappointed on this cancellation but they had already become habitual of this. Kane took a rough pill and he decided to get into the Silth Streets risking his life in order to solve the case of the theft in the antique shop.
