Chapter One
Sparks are flying around the room, the walls are glowing green and blue, the ceiling is revealing the starry night and orange moon, and in the middle of the room is a big dangerous looking machine being controlled and operated on by two young women. One girl with short dirty blonde hair and golden color skin operates the machine from a little box above the machine as the other girl with her dark brown hair in a high ponytail adjusts the machine hands on.
“I think we’ve got it!” The girl with pony ponytail yells over the loud mechanical sounds.
The girl with short blonde hair pulls levers and pushes buttons. She waits to press the big red button on her partners cue.
“Now, Grace!”
The short blonde haired girl, Grace, pushes the big red button. The other girl quickly scatters away from the machine and takes cover behind a metal wall. Grace watches the machine closely for everything to happen. The machine is a big oval like shape with square base holding it up. Inside the circle green and black transparent colors begin to form. A smile grows on Grace’s face as it happens. Suddenly, the machine stops and transparent colors disappear. The smile quickly turns into the biggest aggravated groan. The girl behind the wall takes off her goggles and looks up to Grace in the box.
“It’s okay!” She yells. “We almost had it!”
She then walks over to another box with buttons and levers, she pulls the lever down slowly and the box Grace is in follows. When the box is on the floor, the other girl pushes a button and the box opens. Grace walks out disappointed.
“We were so close, Bianca. I don’t understand what we are doing wrong.”
“I don’t know either, but we will figure it out. We always do.” The other girl, Bianca says.
Bianca puts her around Grace and smiles. Grace rolls her eyes and smiles as well.
They both walk out of the lab and into the world with flying cars above them and neon trees around them. The door closes on it own behind them. They both walked over to two cars parked in an area with a sign that says, no hovering mobiles. Grace looks at Bianca and sighs.
“Do you wanna come over for some dinner?” Grace shyly asks.
“I don’t see why not. I just got cancel my droid to not make my dinner.” Bianca says before looking at her wrist and rolls up her sleeve.
Under her sleeve reveals a watch with a small flat screen. Bianca pushes a button on the screen and a holograph of a human like droid appears.
“Hello, Master Bianca, what am I called for?” The holograph talks a very sweet woman like voice, but with a hint of technology behind it.
“Droid Misty, I will not be home for dinner, so save yourself the energy and don’t make anything tonight.”
“Would you like me to make your bed for you when you arrive home?” The droid, Misty, asks.
“Yes, I should be home by ten pm. I would like you to not be in sleep mode until then.”
“As you wish.”
Bianca presses the screen and holograph of Misty goes away. Bianca looks up to a smiling Grace. Bianca walks over to a white car as Grace walks to her orange one. They both buckle up and press some buttons. Grace press a button that says home as Bianca presses the button that says directions. Grace’s car wheels pull up in and the vehicle begins to hover. A screen pulls up in Bianca’s car and she types in the destination of 32 Buckery Lane. Her car does the same as Grace’s and the car flies itself to the destination.
When Bianca’s car arrives, the wheels slowly come out as the car hovers itself down to the road. Grace is already parked when Bianca arrives. Grace walks to the house and puts her hand on a screen that scans her hand. An unlocking sound is made as approval and the door slides itself open. Bianca follows Grace into the house that has a bunch of orange hovering furniture. Grace sits in a chair and crosses her legs as Bianca sits in the chair next to her.
“T.B.V., turn on the news.” Grace says out loud.
As Grace makes her commands a huge screen comes from the wall and the news turns on. On the news, it talks about the future election of Donald Trump’s Robot servant with the exact mind of Donald Trump himself is now running for president. “I’ve made America great before, I say let’s do it again.” The news goes on and talks about how this isn’t the first robot servant to run, but the first one who isn’t a politician servant. Then the news moves on the new tech-i musician, Bryan with a T, creating a new song for the new music of the life. “Tech-i music is like the old type of music of eighties pop, but with our instruments of today and my new song was inspired by Prince’s 1999 song.” Then the song plays. “We’re going to party like it’s 1999,” lyrics play, but the music is not at all the same.
Grace makes a gross look when the song plays and Bianca notices her reaction. Bianca has no reaction to the new sound or the old sound.
“It’s so disrespectful to remaster old music with the trash. Tech-i is just trashy high tuned edits in the music.”
“I have no problem with it.” Bianca announces.
“And this Bryan with a T is just some little rich boy with no talent. That’s why he is remaking music from over two hundred years ago.”
“Whatever you say, Grace.”
“Oh, what would you like for dinner?”
“I don’t really know.”
“Alright, I got it.” Grace looks behind her. “Ben!”
Another human like droid walks on over to them, he looks like a real person, but with some gloss to his features.
“Yes, master?”
“We have a guest over for dinner and I want your recommendation on what you should make.”
“Snowflake soup and French bread?” Ben speaks in the same robotic voice as the Misty droid did.
“Does that sound good to you, Bianca?”
“Sounds good to me.”
“Alright, I will make two servings of snowflake soup, it will be ready in two minutes.” Ben says before he walks to the kitchen.
Ben begins to make snowflake soup by taking the bowls and packets on the counter. He puts the packets in the bowls and then turns around to put in machine that looks like an oven. He also grabs two little boxes and puts it in there. He closes the oven and presses a button. About thirty seconds after a ding noise is heard and Ben opens the oven to a bowl of white soup and two loaves of French bread. Ben takes it out and places it on the pre set table. Ben walks over to Grace and Bianca.
“Dinner is served.”
“Thank you.” Bianca says.
Bianca and Grace walk over to the table and begin to eat their dinner. The soup is pure white with small blue basil shreds in it for flavor. Grace and Bianca doesn't talk much as the eat.
After they are done eating, Ben walks over and takes the plates and silverware off the table to clean. Bianca looks around and begins to feel tired.
“Thank you for dinner, Grace, and I am sorry about today’s failure.” Bianca says.
“It’s okay, we almost had it. It’s not a failure if its progress.”
“That’s the Grace I know. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“See you.”
Bianca walks out of the house and back to her white care. She gets in and buckles up as she presses the home button. The tires come in and the car hovers up to fly home. Bianca looks around her city and thinks about the world before her. She never listen to music before and hearing Tech-i didn’t phase her as it did Grace.
The car lands in the driveway of an apartment complex. Bianca turns the car off and walks inside. She stands by the elevator with a droid bellhop. She presses the second floor button and the elevator opens up for her. The elevator takes her up to the second floor and she walks into a hallway with brown walls and a green rug. She walks to the door with the number 4B. As Grace did at her house, Bianca puts her hand on the screen next to the door. It scans and lets her in. The apartment is small and white. Bianca has furniture that barely hovers the floor unlike Grace’s. She walks through her tiny living room into a bedroom with a perfectly made white bed. She passes the bed and walks over to the tiny closet. She closes herself in and a light turns on revealing buttons on the wall and clothes along the wall. She presses a button labeled, pajama. The room then turns off and when it turns back on Bianca is in her pajamas. She walks out of the closet and lays in her bed.
