Prologue
Over the edge of a small cliff spilled a river, falling gracefully towards the base, forming a small lake. It twisted and turned throughout the vast meadow, that laid at the bottom of the cliff and then disappeared in the thick woods, that surrounded this place. It was springtime and the field was wrapped with thick grass and blooming flowers which covered the meadow like a blanket.
Ethan was sitting on a rock that protruded from the cliff a few feet above lakes surface, it was like a balcony that revealed to him the most beautiful view. He watched as the last rays of sun hit the surface of the water, breaking it into thousand glistering white sparkles on the blue lake shining like crystals, looking like scattered stars on a clear night.
Ethan loved coming here to clear his head from the burden that was on his shoulders, which was waiting for him pass the edge of this heaven on earth. He took a deep breath, inhaling the sweet smell of the meadow, the smell of blooming flowers prevailed over the smell of green grass and fresh breeze that came from the mountain above. With the last sun’s rays crashing through the thick forest, Ethan knew it was time to leave this place. With heavy heart, Ethan jumped off the rock.
As he jumped, he shifted into his wolf, who was an magnificent beast. His fur was midnight black with amber eyes. It was dangerous and menacing, it caused fear and demanded respect whenever Ethan was in this form, truly displaying the power of an Alpha with its colossus size and fearsome appearance.
He landed on the bank of the lake, felling soft sand beneath his massive paws, digging them into the sand, he then took off towards the castle.
Reality won’t wait much longer.
