Chapter 1

I can feel the tension all over my body, the weakness in my bones, the dryness in my mouth. I can feel a hold in my hand. I opened my eyes slowly and l scanned my surroundings side by side and then... I looked down.

“She’s awake! my baby’s awake... thank god”

I must have awoken the middle aged woman for my sudden movement. She stood up and tears came rolling down from her blue-ish eyes.

That eyes... it’s so familiar yet I can't remember.

“Eyes...” the only words that I utter at the moment. I closed my eyes again for I feel the tiredness in my body. “You can rest now my darling... It’s safe” That’s the last thing I heard and her smile is the last thing I saw.

“Good! you’re awake.” I opened my eyes and saw a beautiful lady in her late 20′s looking down at me. I must have fallen asleep earlier. “I’m Trisha! a police official and investigator, nice meeting you. I am investigating what happened to you guys."

us? it means I’m not the only one in this situation?

“I reckon you don’t have any memories of what happened to you and why you are here.” I gave her a look in my eyes agreeing to what she is saying “Look honey you might think this is a rush but this is for your own good. Now I want you to cooperate. The woman that you saw earlier is your mother, do you remember her? do you recognize her face? her voice?” I shook my head. “Well... do you know what happened to you? slightest detail will do” I closed my eyes and tried to rethink the moment “you don’t have to force yourself... we can do this next time”

“I remember seven...”

“seven? what’s that? a code? a door?”

“That’s the only thing I can remember, I’m sorry” I apologized sincerely

“It’s okay... at least you remember something. That’s a good start.” she smiled and then stood up “I need to leave for now, you must rest.” she smiled at me and then walk towards the door but before she could grab the door knob I asked her “wait... may I know my name?” I should be the one to know my name but the thing is... I really can’t remember anything except that number.

" Nerezza

...

...

Nerezza is your name.”

The car stopped in front of a white house. Not so big, not so small. I slowly roll down the window of the car and looked at the house. I am observing the scenery of the place.

I can see dead flowers surrounding the house.

“This is our home Nerezza” said the woman they refer as my mother “I remember just last month we moved in this neighborhood. I thought everything’s finally gonna change for us you know... like new beginning.” the woman hid her face in her arm resting it in the stirring wheel, I can hear her sobs.

I guess she's crying again.

Her crying didn’t last for she immediately fixed herself and looked at the backseat where I am currently sitting. She smiled as if nothing happened, I can feel that she’s hurting but I can’t help her. I can't even help myself remember. She still is a stranger to me, so is myself.

We both got out of the car and walked towards the door of the house. “Welcome home Nerezza” said the woman as she open the door letting me in first. "So... what do you think?" asking me about the place.

"This is a very beautiful house miss... I mean! m-mom"

"It's a relief that you like it.... this time" she said while throwing a fake smile

"What do you mean by that?" I asked

"Did I not like it back when we first got here?"

suddenly a silence hit us

"I am deeply sorry miss Keysha... I really can't remember you being my mother or being in this place. But believe me when I say I am trying my very best to remember." I said honestly

"Maybe its for the best that you don't remember" she said while looking away

"What do you exactly mean by that?" I asked with curiosity in my face

"I mean... as long as you're here with me, safe and sound everything is what I need. Enough with the drama. Now I will show you to your room so you can finally rest at your own house. Tomorrow is a big day, It's your first day going back to school."

I smiled at her

"You don't have to do it" I got surprised by the tone of the voice that she gave me. With full of curiosity I asked her "what do you mean?"

"You don't have to go to school. I mean you can rest here for a week. you know... to recover from the trauma. I can explain it to your school, they'll understand for sure."

"No... It's okay. I'm fine. Besides it's been 2 months staying in the hospital. I got enough rest that I need, I want to know my friends and feel fresh air." And maybe I can collect some information why I got into that factory and what happened.

"Okay. just be careful. I don't want to lose you again."

She walked me inside my bedroom and left to give me space.

As soon as she closed the door I immediately explore my bedroom. Wow... I can't remember being here but It's me... I am here in the pictures, my hobbies, my achievements. This is really my room no doubt.

I walked towards my window chair and sat on it. I stared outside.

Nothing interest me from this neighborhood. The houses looks good but it feels empty, its like a fancy piggy back without any pennies. No kid is even playing at the street, no lemonade stand.

As I am gazing outside, the house in front of ours caught my attention. The painting is very pale. That's when I realized. Someone is watching me.

I can't see the face...

I know I saw a binoculars in here. I searched my room and finally found the binoculars under the pillows.

I used the binoculars and looked outside the window

"Who are you?" I whispered as It was too late for me to see.

The person is... gone.
