Evie

Silence fills the first floor leaving Evie to her thoughts.

She wonders if her mothers crying or celebrating the fact that she's finally gone, maybe she's ecstatic to know she doesn't have to lie for her anymore. But there's always a chance that she's devastated and Evie holds onto that slim chance that her mother really cares.

As her eyes linger at the end of the hall. Maybe she could run down the halls but there are so many factors against her she could get caught, she's not exactly the athletic type and the maze-like halls seem impossible to navigate.

Her attention is taken away from her thoughts and directed to the warm thick blood dripping down her arms. She wonders if she'll bleed out if she does then she won't have to face what's ahead.

The white lights above are so luminous that Evie saw it walking towards her before the sound of its heels could reach her ears. Its face is expressionless as it glides down the hall alone.

”Hello Evie I'm Yamis.” when it said Evie's name a feeling of defeat and discomfort mixes inside her. She swore she would never come to this place that they would never say her name yet here they are.

Its voice almost sounded human but it looked too perfect to be anything but man-made. Yamis was beautiful it's pale skin was flawless and it's eyes are the perfect shade of green. But the longer Evie stared into its eyes she could see how lifeless it really is.

”Would you like to join us in my office?” It gestures to the door that's labeled office and its lip stretches into a small smile. Evie knows this isn't a question but a command, and this sends a shiver down her spine.

”yes ma'am” she says out of habit as she rises up, a wave of dizziness slams into her making her grab the chair for support. Yamis tilts it's head and stares down at Evies arm

”we’ll get that checked out for you but in the meantime follow me.” it's voice is a soothing female voice and this makes Evie uncomfortable but she forces her trembling legs to follow it into the office.

The clock ticks echo in the large office.

”Welcome to the lazaretto would you like to tell us why your here?” The fact that it said us reminds her that what she says and does is being recorded that there's more than her and Yamis in the room. Yet she doesn't care she couldn't care less if the whole world was watching. The only thing she cared about was if she was going home or not.

Evie lifts up her once white sleeves revealing the fresh wounds. She sits silently scared of saying something out of place. Yamis nods her head. This is pointless Evie's parents already told them everything. This kinda upsets her that she needs to repeat everything, but she does it anyway. Evie glances up at the clock and makes a mental note that there are only five more minutes left.

”when did this start?” this question takes her aback. Evie was never asked this before so when she opens her mouth to speak she shuts it again.

A memory full of inaudible whispers and monsters towering over her threatening to steal her sanity floods her mind.

”I don't know.” her voice is hoarse as she fights tears. The memory tries to unfold it's self completely but Evie pushes it to the back of her head. It's eyes settle on my bouncing leg and fidgety hands ”dont worry your time here is only temporary we're here to help you.” the lie makes Evie clench her jaw, no one leaves people like her are to sick to be released. All of a sudden the clock stops ticking.

”well were done for today.” it smiles and I hear the door open behind me. I turn to see another one of them but this one has softer features and dark blue eyes.

”follow me.” it smiles and when she gets up to follow it her vision blurs.

The walk was short two turns and into a small room where they bandage her up. The walls are painted gray and all the furniture is white. Evie looks down at her cuts, some are so deep she needs stitches some are just a scratch. The pain calms her. It takes her mind off of everything and she just focuses on the pain.

”how did this happen?” She contemplates not saying anything but it’s rude so she reply’s

“I cut myself.” The words feel weird coming out of her mouth.

”With what?” It’s voice is very emotionless which makes it easier to talk.

”scissors.” it nods it’s head and the other one keeps quiet. When thier done Yamis leads her up many stairs until She reachs a place called unit 7. The moment yamis opened the metal door screams pour out. The first face that caught Evies eye was a girl with her hair half dyed a dark red and the other half a dark brown. She stands in front of the door facing her left yelling.

”come at me you son of a bitch.” Evie slowly looks up at Yamis. Yamis looks down at her awkwardly and smiles showing all teeth and pushes her into the room.

”They will take good care of you hear.” It says before slamming the door.
