For years now I have been living in this highschool routine I created for myself, being punctual to school, staying focused during classes , going to the library when am not busy or hanging out with my friends during lunch. Of course am a nerd and quite an introvert but that didn’t stop me from having friends or in my case being forced to be friends.

Not that I hate my friends or anything actually am happy that they decided to be friends with someone like me what more could I ask for right?

’Alex!″Alex!′ I was snapped out of my thoughts by Sammy or Sam for short

She’s the only friend I had before the others actually she was the one that made them become friends with me.

Sam and I have known each other since diapers from being neighbors to going to the same school and then Hanging out, she’s the only one who knew me starting from the kind of food I love,when I feel nervous or fustrated my worst fears and my best moments, actually I always had and still have a Cr..

“are you alright?” she asked again

“yes I am” I replied “what’s up what we’re you saying” we we’re currently at the table having lunch.

“we were wondering if you would be joining us for the party tonight at kevs house?, He’s parents are out of town for the weekend so he’s throwing a party for getting an A in his test!” Emily replied

Emily also part of my friends,she was part of the people that were introduced to me by Sammy, Emily is and has always been the gossiper in the group you know? The ones that brings the gist even the stories that are yet to happen leave it for Emily to find out, shes not someone I tell alot of my secret to because am afraid she might spill it out , doesn’t mean I don’t trust her or love her tho.

“I don’t get it why would someone throw a party for getting an A?” Dianne said ′ahh she just said my mind’s′ Dianne is someone I would consider weird always zoning out and talking about things that only her understands, sometimes I feel like she’s always high off something, if I was a nerd I believe Dianne is Nerdder( if that word exist). I love her because she gets me especially in terms of education she’s more like my assignment buddy I can discuss any thing related to school with her and she’s always available to help if it’s only schoolwork related, I can’t share relationships problem with her, it just feels like I am talking to myself literally because she’s spaces out all the time when she’s not busy with schoolwork, I always wondered what’s going on inside her head.

“D. you just spoke my mind, I mean why would someone throw a party for getting an A in a test, I Have been getting A’s all my life and I am yet to be in a party” I told them

“Alex you don’t have a life to begin with, I mean you are yet to have ur first alcohol so I don’t really think you would understand” Emily replied

“Shut it Em!” Sam defended me, than turned to me “are you coming?” She asked.

“When is the party?” I asked

“This weekend”

“What! This weekend? But I got plans!”

“Oh really? Let me guess reading that new book you bought the other day?”

“No that’s not it” I bit my lip because I know she was right.

“Then tell me?”

“Ehmm okay fine you are right, But am still not coming”

“Why?”

“You know me it’s not my thing, I don’t like too much crowds am not a fan of being around teenagers!”

“Uhm but you know you do realize you are still a teenager right?, c’mon even D. Is coming highschool is almost over and you are yet to have your first party, do it for me please” she said giving me that puppy eyes that I couldn’t resist

“Urgh! Fine but you telling Mom and Dad” I said

“Yes!” She fist bumped Emily “Don’t worry they will be delighted” she said winking at me, I could feel the blush on my cheeks.
