Ok, Hailey, you have been here for two weeks now you got a campus crush yet?” Soo asked. “Ha no,” I replied, “Ok so then who was your last crush?” She asked. “Umm…” I said while taking a quick sheepish glance at Triston. I was about to say I was going to take a shot then I looked at Soo and she looked at me with shock. I realized she must have noticed my glance at Triston because she looked between me and Triston and she was about to say something when Triston said: “You can only ask one question.” saving me from embarrassment

Prologue: A Note From Hailey

This is a story about friendship. love. and the challenges that come along the way. This is a story about me and my best friend and our turbulent journey through life and love.

I met Triston in elementary school, we were best friends from the first hello. It was one of those childhood friendships from the movies.

We did everything together, we were each other’s rock through thick and thin, and yeah we had our fights but nothing ever broke our bond.

When we got to high school it was the same except now we saw each other through heartbreak and mental illness on my part. By the end, we had made it out of high school alive by the skin of our teeth and we were on our way to college.

Triston and I had hoped to go to the same college but we knew it was unlikely since we only applied to one college together.

It was both of our dream colleges because of their great computer science department for him and an amazing psychology department for me and was far away from our small-town home in Georgia that we both wanted desperately to get out of and by some grace of whatever higher power is out there, we both got in and I even got a full ride.

We were both on the way to making our dreams come true. Little did we know what life had in store for us.
