third-person pov; late at night play dates

Darcy and Caleb were just little kids living their life just like every other day at darcy’s house. Her friends always come over to Darcy’s house where they would play until they were tired and sleep for the night. But, there was one friend that never spent the night over, Caleb. Darcy never knew why I mean, he’d come to her house but never spent the night. It was something both Caleb and darcy never figured out to this day.

But they both hope that today will be that day. “Mommy, can Caleb stay here for the night?” Darcy walked over to her mom smiling with Caleb’s hand in hers, also smiling. Her mother stared down at them with a warm smile that almost looked apologetic, making their smiles fade away. “Darcy, we’ve been through this already-” “Come on mom, please? he never stays over.” “Christine and Quincy always come over, so why can’t I?” Caleb says letting go of Darcy’s hand and walked to Darcy’s room,

“I never said no.” Mom recalled to them just as they were about to give up, “Fine, Caleb can stay for the night.” both of them had their smiles back on their faces hearing those words. “YAY!” they yelled as they both ran back to Darcy’s room and started jumping on her bed in excitement. “What do you want to do first?” she asks, “I don’t know, whatever you want to do.” “But I don’t know what I wanna do.” “Me neither.” they stopped jumping on the bed and looked at each other. “Let’s go play with Louie!”

“Yeah!” Darcy grabbed Caleb’s hand and ran out to the backyard to meet a dog barking happily at their faces.

“Louie!”
