From the Stacks: A College of Found Poems

Summary

Found poems are poems made from the words, lines, and even sometimes sections of other works. This is a collection of found poems I made using lines of my favorite pieces of literature that relate back to what I believe to be the central theme of the book. Hopefully, this inspires you to pick up your favorite novel and make some of your own.

And the stage was suddenly empty

Written with lines from Mikhail Bulgakov’s “The Master and Margarita”

And the stage was suddenly empty

The prisoner gave

a puzzled look

wearing a white cloak with a blood-red lining

Please tell me your name

He found it difficult to speak

So you’ve forgotten my name too

You are a liar.

I am an interpreter

What is official

and what is unofficial?

It all depends on the point of view

Unfortunate poet!

Why do you dislike my poems?

It is severely punished

Believe me, they take your heart out!

Thou art the God of evil!

Black God!

God of thieves!

I’ve never read any of your poems!

I dislike them dreadfully

to revise what he had written

The multicolored towers were no longer there

The city itself had long disappeared

And the stage was suddenly empty
