What is your opinion?

Awesome!

"(Alright, I'm new to this, so you can chalk up my probably useless review to inexperience. Also, never been very good at "on a scale of 1 to whatever" stuff, so I just put five stars for everything because it was all good.) Maybe it's because I'm so interested in backstory, but this was really neat. I love the way it wasn't just a story about how Wash used to sail on the ocean, but also a conflict because his whole family were mariners, not pilots. And how they couldn't see the stars but he fell in love with them anyway? This is a wonderful tale, and I sincerely wish you the best of luck in winning the contest. Hey, other people who might be reading the reviews! Yeah, that's right. I'm talkin' to you! If you haven't read this entry already, you should really do so. Like, now, before you get distracted by other things. It is definitely worth reading."

Lovely

"Beautiful little slice of life piece about Wash's past. I especially felt the heart-ache of his thinking that he had no choice but to throw away his dream and how hard that made it for him to face his family. I was also intrigued by the way you contrasted the detail you've sewn into his family life and the very generalized—almost non-existent—descriptions of the ships in the port with which he spends so much time, It's also very well done considering that about the only ship type we know of is the Firefly. There simply are no other descriptions to give. PS. for the long dash: hold down the Alt key and use the number pad to type 0, 1, 5, 1."

Sea of Love

"Wow, that was beautiful. A lovely, lyirical character description, and I love the little details about his world. I'm not entirely clear why he stops talking to Evangeline, was it because it just hurt to bring up the subject of space flight? That's a small point. ."

Backstory par excellence

"Knowing Wash, it could well have happened this way. It is a very good backstory that would consistently explain Wah's behaviors, maybe not his fascination with dinosaurs, but how the sky calls him. There was only one area where I had a problem with the story - when he's slipping away to the spaceport. What does he know every feature of? Other than that, it was an enjoyable read."
