Spooky
"Right away this is a cool idea and mentioning in the description that the characters bond over horror films is a great way of showcasing their relationship. You don't need their names to be completely in capital letters in the first sentence though. I think you could actually start the description from ‘A silent movie...’ and weave the other bits of information into the other paragraphs. Your story parts have chapter 1 etc, at the start of them, but not in the actual chapter title. I would fix this so it would be: Chapter 1. Only in New England will the Devil find a friend, and so on. Excellent detail in the descriptions right away, characters set up well, scene set up well, but you need to start a new paragraph for when we have someone speak, especially considering it is such a big chunk of speech. About half way into chapter 1, you start 3 paragraphs, one after the other, with ‘Dan’ - this is repetitive and needs changed to either he or then he or then Dan. Your paragraph sizes are a little all over the place in chapter 1, some are very big and need breaking up and others that are small could be better as bigger ones. The whole lunatic thinks the devil is trying to get to children through their toys is an interesting idea, a good little indication too that there are troubles in the whole town. In the second chapter, ‘Kit snatched the box out of Andy’s hand:’ should have a full stop at the end instead of a colon. There are a couple of times in the second chapter where sentences could do to be broken up with commas. The bit with speech starting: ‘At church last night,’ Andy said’ would be smoother as one big chunk of text without the ‘Andy said’ breaking it up for no reason. That can be put at the end. This story really is one classic horror fans will love. Well done."

Blockbuster Curse
"It is the time of the video store chains where the idea of downloading a video was as remote of the idea of watching that same video on a CD. While working at the Video Shack, three male friends lazily discuss their interest in magic. (Dan casually mentions that he has the ability to levitate himself off the floor.) But their biggest interest of all is in movies especially the film-that-will-not-be-watched. Cursed, this movie holds an unholy fascination for the three boys. Three girls enter the store. Young and attractive they too express interest in the nameless film. Will the boys be able to resist their charms, or will all of them destroy themselves by watching a film that promises the ultimate death to all who view it? I loved the time period of this piece and the brown-note feel. (A brown-note is a sound that is unbearable to to the human mind and often induces thoughts of suicide.) Reminds me a little of The King in Yellow mythos too. Deserthorror has a wonderfully, dark and twisted imagination. I can only hope some of it inspires me as I continue to read his works. "

Chilling
"This novel gave me the chills as though I was watching a movie. The author has excellent detailing style and dialogue. The suspense! I was on my toes throughout the novel. The author portrayed the suspense, fear, and thrill perfectly. A plot like this is mostly seen in movies but the author made it better than watching it. Overall, this is an intriguing and suspenseful novel. "
Horror books...
"While personally Horror books are not my cup of tea, I have to say that this one was good so far. The author has an attention for detail and excellent dialogue. While the chapter's are long it does not take away from the book experience. I would suggest chopping up the chapters so that some readers don't lose interest. I would recommend it to anyone who likes the horror genre."

Creepy.
"An interesting start to the beginning of the story I must say. The setting was beautifully narrated out and I love the way you introduced the characters by weaving them together all into one movie rumor or myth or I don't even know XD Great job! I would say probably cut some of your paragraphs in half. Sometimes, it's just one big dialogue and when I read that, it feels like the character isn't taking a breath. Most of them are fine, there are just a selected few. And there are some missing indents when the character speaks but that's all. It was very suspenseful to read and I really enjoyed it :) Keep up the good work!"
Vivid horror that crackles
"As a first-time reader, I was engaged from the start. The dialogue and characters come to life in every chapter. I felt completely immersed in the story about a cursed VHS and the scrappy kids who come together to fight it. There are plenty of references and homages to classic horror works. I wish the chapters were just a bit shorter. Overall, this is a wonderful work in the spirit of Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Agatha Christie."
